Events
My arms slid around her waist. “Marcus? What are you doing?” Elizabeth asked, a hint of fear filling her voice. I pulled her closer and ran my tongue along her jugular vein, “My natural thing… my dear sweet Elizabeth.” She slid her arm onto my neck and stroked the back of it. “Marcus… how long has it been since you drank human blood?” she questioned me, nuzzling her head against my cheek. Liz… are you inviting me in? I wondered as I drew back a bit. I held her closer to me, “Three weeks. Just some cultist freak who thought it was the ultimate honor.” She nuzzled again, this was really unlike her. Whatever happened to that shy little lady I knew? “Marcus, if you need my blood, take it. I don’t mind, just as long as you don’t go off and kill someone,” she whispered in an urgent tone. I couldn’t stand it any longer! I eased my lips onto her neck. Within a moment, my fangs were in her vein. Her blood… it’s so sweet, I thought in a daze. Elizabeth yelped and gripped tightly at my neck, but I was beyond feeling. All I was aware of was her blissful life blood pouring onto my tongue, down my parched throat. Time ticked by and after about half a minute, I withdrew my fangs. Liz fell back into my arms, her cheek flushed. “Marcus… is it going to feel like that every time you bite me?” she asked, rubbing my cheek tentatively. I blushed… HARD. My hand drifted onto her neck and I leaned in, giving her a gentle, loving kiss. I noticed Liz’s eyes widening and then felt a little bit of a return. We closed our eyes and kissed; a slow, easy one. As our kiss ended, I looked into her eyes; she looked into mine, “Was that the first time you’ve been kissed, Liz?” She closed her eyes, her cheeks slowly reddening. “A-Actually, y-yes,” she responded shyly, “But, there is something I owe you for doing that..” I tilted my head and tried to take a wild guess, but before I could react, she slammed her open palm onto my cheek. I flinched a bit, “That was almost like rape, Mark. Don’t do that again, or I’ll slap the s**t out of you.” She got up out of my arms and laid down on her couch, sighing sleepily. What a woman, I thought with a cheesy Boston accent. I let my eyes rove over her body, in some other guy’s eyes, she would seem imperfect, but to me, she was a perfect view of a goddess, “Hey, Liz?” she turned to face me, “W-Would you like t-to be my g-g-girlfriend?” She actually giggled, but it was just one of those days or so I thought. “A-Actually, yes I would,” she responded quietly, before drifting off to sleep.

Event Two

I growled wildly as I fired my shotgun at Liz, taking care not to kill her just yet. She leapt and spiralled away from the pellets ripping through the air attempting to meet their target. She had seen my face, she knew what I was. I thought she would understand but she had attempted to stake me, to rid the world of my presence. I opened my heart to her, it was time to correct that mistake. She let loose a hail of rounds from her pistols, they were inacccurate and easily avoidable. We continued our dance, firing off rounds and dodging them. It seemed that vampires and hunters shall forever be trapped in the waltz of destruction that is our war. We both ducked behind the cold metal walls of the ancient amusement park. I smelled a hint of blood and tears from behind her metal shield, I had shot her, one of the pellets must've connected. The tears was what set me off guard, what purpose would she have for crying? This was her job as a trained vampire huntress was it not? I heard her swear and her pistols clatter uselessly to the ground, I fooled myself into thinking I had her now, but I looked down at my ammo belt to see if I had any shells left. I was out, just like her. The sound of a sword unsheathing caught my attention, so I dropped my shotgun and drew my curved sword.
"Liz? You do realize you sealed your fate when you attempted to slay me!"
"Why did you lie to me like this, Mark!? Why didn't you tell me you were one of them?! Did you not trust me?!?!"
I stepped out of the shadows, blade in hand, my facial features relaxed, completely cold. "I did, but you are a Valentine. Notorious for killing any vampire with such an emotionless ruthlessness that rivals the very first breed of hunters. Besides, what do you care! We are just friends!" it hurt to say those last four words, because a part of me wanted more with Elizabeth, a chance to be with her, to hold her, kiss her, just be hers. I heard Liz slowly step out of her hiding spot, the sword she wielded dragging on the ground, "Marcus...?" She readied the blade at her throat, then I lost control of my body. I found myself darting towards her, sprinting with all my strength just to reach her. I was afraid. I didn't even realize how much she meant to me until that moment. When I was close enough I stopped and wrenched the blade out of her slender fingers. She gasped in pain and surprise, toppling back onto her behind. "WHAT IN GOD'S NAME ARE YOU DOING!!!" I roared, tossing the blade hard into the nearby wall. She stared up at me in shock, her bottom lip quivering. I grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and pulled her up off the ground, "What do you think suicide would solve, you moron! Do you want to end up burning in hell for eternity?!" Her hands darted up to my wrists, clenching tightly to my exposed skin. "Let me go!" she screamed, clawing and my wrists. I heard a pistol c**k behind me, "Hands up! Put the girl down and back away slowly!" Our fighting had alerted someone. My eyes shifted back, it was an officer, but he had his pistol drawn, eyes searching both of us, spotting our weapons and their sheaths. "Put her down and back away! Little girl, put your hands up as well!" he barked, his finger pulling the trigger back further. Liz looked up at me, her eyes filling with worry. "Can't do that sir." A bullet pierced my back. I turned my head, glaring at the officer. He took aim again, "Don't make me kill you, boy!" Liz's eyes darted back to me, she removed her hands and tried to shake me, "MARK! Don't be an idiot!" A second bullet tore through my leg, then a third grazed my neck, and a fourth sank into my shoulder. Pain lanced through me, I began losing focus on reality. I dropped Liz and whirled, ripping my sword out of the ground. In an instant I was behind the man, blade pressed to his jugular vein. "No, don't kill me... I have a wife and kids!" I threw him into one of the walls, sparing his pitiful existence. I looked for Liz where I had dropped her, she was gone. I stumbled back, banging my head against one of the metal walls. I couldn't bring myself to rise. "Elizabeth..." was all I could say before the inky blackness took hold of me.
