i found out a few weeks ago that my poem was posted on the school poetry board for the month of december i was sooo happy. this is the poem...
The Soldier

His family was so worried
but they knew he wouldnt stay
so they all wished him the best of luck
and sent him on his way

marching into battle
he looked so big and brave
with his gun and cottin suit
he thoght of the lives hed save

a soldier must be bravehe thought
im doing this for my friends
ill just be strong and carry on
untill the battle ends

bigger than a tidal wave
in lines of 40 men or more
to the sound of a beating drum
they marched into the raging war

he fought with all the strength he had
and at first he did so well
but with a bullet in the heart
the mighty soldier fell.

another soldier dies at war
and one more battle ends
leaving a feeling of sadness and pride
for his family and friends.
