Nichole and I saw Ponyo in theaters on Wednesday September 2. This thursday Harkwins was going to "kick out" the movie. So I got to see a Hayao Miyazaki movie in a American theater! Ok now for the review, I will try not to spoil it. However if you truely want me to spoil it, just send a message. blaugh
I really enjoyed the movie! I could tell that Miyazaki "recycled" some stuff from his preivous movies. Such as the old witch from Howl's Moving Castle, and Sophie's blue dress from Howl's Moving Castle. I could tell that it was a Miyazaki's movie because of the way his studio draws. At the right price I would buy this movie. Ponyo is a innocent, not a whole lot of dialog movie. In the begining it has a "Spirited Away" slow start but I didn't care. Right now I would rewatch it
My favorite character was Ponyo's Father. I don't know if he has a name, but I didn't catch it. He was voiced by Liam Nesson (the father from the movie Taken). First of all I really love his voice from the start. Everytime the father came into the picture I would mentally laugh, because he was just a quirky character. My fav. part of him was his hair, how it some - what moves with his emotion and "Respect your father!" lol just watch the movie. xd
I thought that Ponyo's mother would be more from the sea, instead of just wearing a light blue dress all the time. She needs some fashion for my taste.
Over all Ponyo was a really great, awesome, wonderful... you get the idea.
