Her eyes screw shut as his face comes to mind.
She's hiding, but still she fears she'll be found.
No one will hold her, she's here all alone,
And she screams, but doesn't make a sound.
Clawlike fingernails and pointed teeth,
Those don't frighten her as much as his eyes.
When he looks at her from across the room,
A tiny part of her slowly dies.
He stands, he steps forward, he raises his arms.
He smiles, dark, malice in its glint.
She cowers away from his tainted embrace.
His eyes take a devilish tint.
She falls from her chair, her throat closes up.
He descends upon her in a spiderlike way.
She freezes, he takes the chance that he has found.
She's become none more than his next prey.
She jolts from her sleep, a cold sweat on her brow.
Just minutes from daylight, tears run down her face.
She wipes at them angrily, the covers aside.
She'll never again be within his embrace.
