Time for the rare and elusive journal entry surprised Which, in this case, means you get to hear me b***h and moan. If you don't like hearing (or in this case, reading) people complain, then you should probably not read this, because I'm extremely fond of doing so xd
First off, Christmas. The xmas celebrations this year were actually somewhat fun, despite the fact that I decided I didn't need sleep the night before and ended up dead tired all day xd We (as in my hubby, my mother-in-law and her husband) all opened presents together, then ate a very delicious dinner, and watched Christmas With the Kranks. All in all, I had a good time and it was a HUGE improvement over last year.
The presents, on the other hand..
Now, I'm not one to complain about presents, usually. I am usually happy just knowing that someone has thought enough of me to give me a gift, no matter what it is. This year opening gifts on xmas eve (yes, we celebrated a day early) was a bit.. dissapointing, though. Of course I should probably mention that all the gifts I opened that day were all from my mother in law. Hubby gave his gifts to me way early (which was a nintendo DS and Nintendogs, because he is awesome), and he's getting me Animal Crossing for it also, we need to make a trip out of town for that though. And my mother let me open her gifts to me early (pj bottoms and socks, which I have an obsession for xd )
So what did my mother in law get me this year, you ask? A bunch of useless things I will never use (standard for her), and the main gifts were clothes. Now, she does this ever year, so I wasn't surprised. Believe me, I like getting clothes, that's not my complaint. The problem that this year, instead of getting clothes that she thinks will look good on me that I will like, she decided to get clothes that she thinks will look good on me that SHE likes. I recieved a black shawl (a SHAWL?!?), a dark blue exercise suit thing (which I actually kinda like), a light-ish blue SWEATSUIT.. holy hell.. sweatsuits are for excersing in, sweatsuits are for people who need to lose weight. I am 130 pounds, I do not need a sweatsuit, and they are ugly. My mother in law is apparently actually worried about my weight and thinks I need to GAIN weight, so why she got me a sweatsuit is beyond me. Oh, and I do not like colours, yes I am one of those people who usually only wears black. Not that I absolutely hate and would refuse to ever wear colours, but only in a way that suits my style.
A sweatsuit isn't exactly.. stylish. xd
She also got me two shirts that are basically exactly the same, only one is this ugly bright orange but not quite orange colour.. like something in between orange and pink. Absolutely horrid, I'm telling you.
The other is turquoise. gonk gonk gonk
It was so hard trying to not look dissapointed when I opened those. sweatdrop
I sincerely hope she doesn't get miffed when she notices me never wearing any of that stuff. *le sigh* The whole thing that irritates me about this isn't so much that they're ugly clothes, but more that she KNOWS I don't like colours, and she got them because SHE wants to see me in them. When you buy gifts for people, it's supposed to be about them, not about you. End of story. I just feel really bad that she wasted her money.
