woot! last night we (mike, amber and i) went to see harry potter and the half blood prince at the mall of america. biggrin we saw it in the VIP theater and i must say i think it has spoiled me and i'll never be able to go to a 'regular' theater EVER again! the VIP theater (for those who don't know) serves beer and wine and is restricted to age 21 and over. that's right - 21 and over only! NO kids!! *squeee* whee it was the best theater going experience i have had in years. seriously. the place has nice wide high backed reclining seats and they send wait staff through before the movie to take your food/drink orders. (after the movie starts you have to go get it yourself) but really the best part was the audience. no one was talking. no one was getting up and down to run to the bathroom or concessions. no one was invading my space or kicking my seat. a cell phone went off once - just once - and an usher quickly appeared and told them to turn it off. xd i'm telling you, it was theater nirvana!!! *wipes away tears of joy*

so....the movie itself -
i thought the movie was awesome! although they left a few notable things out it was very well done. i laughed in places rofl , i cried (during one scene) crying and in others i was freaked out eek . it was pretty intense and i already can't wait for the next movie to come out... also: helena bonham carter was the best choice for bellatrix - ever! my god she was creepy! tom felton (draco) was really good too! i actually started to feel sorry for draco. oh and alan rickman is still a smexy man. whee

anyway, if you're a potter fan and you haven't seen it yet - go!

I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD to see it. I've read all the books but watching the movies is special and I like to watch them all in order from the first whenever a new dvd comes out. I'm glad you enjoyed it however. mrgreen

i usually wait for the dvd's myself. i'm not really into crowds in real life (and several of my past theater experiences were miserable) - so i've got to be really motivated to go see anything at a theater anymore. harry potter and the goblet of fire had me nearly homicidal by the end of the movie - people were up and down the whole time. they were also talking, texting, invading my space, kicking the back of my chair. the place was over run with small children (read: under 12) and at least one nearly new born infant (i was sitting next to it) and this was the midnight showing on the premiere weekend! gawd i was just livid! scream compared to last nights experience the difference was like night and day. like i said, i don't think i can ever go to a regular theater ever again. 3nodding
