Ritzy was walking around town, bored. His parents were mean to him and he barely had any friends. The town was his only solace, his home away from home. It was filled with delightful smells and sounds.
He walked into a small ice cream shop, pulling out what little money he had. $5.50, that was all he had on him.
He walked up to the counter, asking, "How much is it for a scoop of chocolate ice cream sir?"
The man looked up from his work, walking over the the boy at the counter. He smiled and replied, "It's $2.25 for a bowl, $2.75 for a cone. You can also add toppings for an extra 25 cents." He waited patiently for the boy to decide, putting his hands on the counter, watching him think.
The cat boy stared off while thinking, finally coming to a decision. "Umm...I guess I'll have a bowl of chocolate ice cream please." Ritzy smiled as the man went to make his treat.
The man called back, "Would you like any toppings?"
Ritzy yelled back, "No thank you sir!"
A few seconds later the man came back, Ritzy's bowl in hand. He set it down, holding his hand out for the money. Ritzy counted it for a moment and gave payment for the bowl, exactly, to the man. Ritzy smiled once more, gripping his bowl and walking slowly to the door, careful not to spill any of his treat.
"Thank you, son!" The store keeper called as Ritzy went out. He smiled to himself as he thought he was doing a good thing, making a kid like that happy.
"mmmm!!" Ritzy exclaimed as he walked outside, licking ice cream off his fingers. he was very happy about getting the frozen treat, it made him enjoy himself, and he loved every moment of the sweet treat.
