"Renegade"
I stand above the clouds, upon the clouds rather, the earth in shambles below. An angel? No.
I am no angel, but rather a prisoner of the heavens. Yes I have wings. But what does that signify?
Nothing. They are superficial, insignificant, unnecessary. I am one who has fled heaven and been
brought back by force. Cut and bruised, my white, porcelain skin only serving as a blinding backdrop
to my wounds. Sound is muffled by the music of mortals. Chains bind me to heaven’s gates. I cannot
escape. I have tried. But they keep bringing me back. Why? I know not. Surrounded by such heavenly
things and I hate it. Disgusting and putrid and pure. Let me free and I would gladly trade it all for humanity.
Demon trapped in angel guise
Human heart of demise
I call to you, chained to the ground
Nothing more that they have found
Bleeding red on skin of white
Looking for an unfair fight
Music blaring in my ears
Noting that the sky, it clears
Blocking my eyes from the sun
Break my chains you better run
Beaten down I get back up
Heaven’s running out of luck
Eyes glazed over I don’t see
The way that they glare at me
Emotionless I keep my stance
They aren’t gonna stand a chance
When I break free they’ll find they lost
Demon free and at what cost?
Heaven, yes, the gates shall fall
Angels die, one and all
