god, life is random
Chapter 2
"No!!!!" Gyra shouts as she begins to cry and pound her fists into Dr. Slock's chest, who was standing nearby, "How could this happen?! My Justin... I should have NEVER gone to that party!" Her tears blind her and the rubber gloves over her hands scrape her face as she tries to wipe them away. "Please, Miss Gyra, don't cry. This wasn't your fault. I would know, I am the doctor." says Dr. Slock, while smiling, trying to lighten the mood. Gyra looks up at Dr. Slock as he towered over her at 6'3" and she was only a miniscule 5'10". Her eyes were filled with despair, lost hope, and tears. Gyra saw Dr. Slock's silly, almost comforting smile and began to smile back at him. She let out a slight laugh that sounded quite like a giggle as she pulled herself out of Dr. Slock's arms. The embrace had happened while the little "fit" she had just made and his arms slowly wrapped around her, as if to comfort her. However, as the embrace was noticed it led to multiple awkward silences while Gyra walked around the room.

Gyra paced back and forth, to and fro across the room slowly passing by the metal drawer which contained Justin. She took slight glances at it and sometime paused in her pacing as if to ask a question or make a silence to break the awkward silence that was hovering above the room. But Gyra always pulled in her breath and began pacing again.

Stopping, Gyra paused aagin, debating how to form her words before finally speaking and changing the subject. "What's.... What is the COD?" she asks finally, but trips over the words as she says them. A surprised Dr. Slock replied, "It.. was multiple stab wounds to the chest. Which he could have survived; if he hadn't of been hit by a car afterwards." Gyra stopped her staring at the wall, trying to delete the pain in her heart, and looked over at the doctor. "....hit....hit by a car afterwards....?! are you...accusing me??!!" Gyra asked, with a slight concern in her voice as if her friend might have just betrayed her. Dr. Slock looked back a Gyra with a hurt in his eyes as if he knew the way she felt, then he spoke saying, "no! I could never, ever make a descision like that. I know you couldn't have hit him. I can see it in your eyes... that you wouldn't be able to do that."

Gyra looked over at him, noticing his slight hesitation as he said "that you wouldn't be able to do that." She could sense his doubt, in himself, not in her. He wondered if he was too trusting, maybe to gullible. "Maybe, Gyra did kill him, or at least finish him off." he thought as Gyra saw right through him. Her pain was slashed through once again as he doubted her. She knew that he was just trying to be helpful, but she could tell he was lying when he say the classic words of "I can see it in your eyes." Grya, deep in thought, murmurs to herself, saying, "Just because eyes are windows to the soul, doesn't mean everyone knows what they're saying."

Gyra stopped her hateful and accusing thinking for a moment to see the other side of things. She looked up at Dr. Slock. He had done everything to help her: he told her the truth, he didn't accuse her, hell! he even hugged her. "Why am I wasting my time accusing a man only trying to be nice to me?" she thought, "I need to start learning more about this instead of causing more drama than I already have."

Gyra looked up at Dr. Slock, suddenly. He loked back at her with concern in his eyes. "i want....." Gyra said slowly, "I want to see the bosy." Her voice broke as she said these words. She hated referring to Justin as "the body" and her heart was weeping within her. She couldn't stand it, but she knew that she needed to see this, no matter how she dreaded it. "Are you sure, Gyra?" Dr. Slocks asked her, concerned. Grya nods, not wishing to speak in breaking down into salty tears. "If you're sure." He says as he walks over to the wall of metal drawers amd starts to pull out the one containing the body of Justin.

Gyra takes a deep breath, praying to herself that she would be ready to see this. Hoping to be ready to see her plans for the future killed, just like Justin was.

She watches Dr. Slock put the bosy onto a metal tray and pulled back the white cloth, the only thing left covering Justin's body. gyra looked up into the blinding, medical lights, trying to blink back the tears. She tried desperately to focus on something else, if only for a moment, but she couldn't. Gyra agreed with herself to settle for second best, trying to recall all the CSI episodes she had watched, all the little details they found, and how they cracked the case. Gyra took a deep breath as she looked down at Justin and realizd that her life had just become a CSI episode.
