You never know how much someone means to you until they're gone. Until that last breath of life escapes their lungs, the light in their eyes dimming. You find yourself backtracking the days, back, back, to the time before all the mess and heartache. Wishing with all your heart and soul that it isn't really true. Each tear recolors the feelings, the pain, and the hope lost.
You try and will the clock to retrace it's steps just to see the smile on his face again, to hear a wise crack one more time escape his lips.
Each beat of a heart keeps the clock alive, filling in the silence with .. with life.
Send a flame out to see, buring bright. Just like he, and he shall be remembered by all whom see it.
