Anna's Journal
I plan to write whatever the hell i feel like, thank you very much.
Raagghhh!!!
Yesterday, when I went to school, a friend of mine was acting really weird. She was acting depressed and wouldn't explain herself, which actually isn't that uncommon. Her life is pretty dramatic. Anyway, I tried bugging her about it, because usually I'm eventually able to figure out what she's going on about. She also, in the middle of science class, said "his" hair looked "delicious". At the time, I didn't make the connection.
Today, she was doing it again. She said she didn't want to go to class, especially language arts class. I didn't get that, because nothing super bad was happening in language arts, and I know in general she likes the class. That's when I remembered how she was acting yesterday. Yesterday, when anyone asked her, all she would say was "It has to do with someone in our section." I finally made the connection this morning in homeroom.
I said, "You have a crush on someone in our section!" Only I whispered it because if I didn't the kids in our homeroom would hear. I'm such the detective. She pretty much confirmed it, but she wouldn't tell me who it was. I was thinking about it, when she called me over and said she'd give me a hint. Then she said it was a member of the opposite sex. I'm not sure if she just didn't want to put it past me to guess a girl, or if she chickened out on what she was originally going to say, but then she told me it wasn't someone in our homeroom. I kept bugging her until she told me it was someone who sat near her in LA. I guessed a guy named Brad, even though I knew it probably wasn't him, because, well, you would know if you met him. So anyway, then I asked her if she sat near him in science, and she said no, he sat in one of the front two rows (we sit at the very back) so I guessed the only guy I could think of that sat in the front two rows. She said she wasn't going to say yes or no because then I would just guess everyone in our section. I became suspicious, because she had said no to Brad, but waited for confirmation.
We left for gym class, and she said she wanted to go the long way, because apparently her friend was supposed to be saying something to the guy during homeroom, and he would know by now. By the fact that she knew he wouldn't go the short way, I knew he must come down the stairwell, meaning he was in an upstairs homeroom. I told my friend this, and she said yes, her friend who was telling him was in his homeroom. I then stated I would ask her friend what homeroom she was in, at which point she gave up and said what homeroom he was in. This happened to be Ashely's homeroom. When we got to gym, I asked Ashely if the guy I suspected she liked was in her homeroom. Ashely said yes. So I got excited, but decided to wait for science class to be sure.
Come science class, the only guys other than the one I had guessed were either in our homeroom (which my friend had ruled out) or Scott, or David. Both Scott and David are complete nitwits my friend hates so I told her I had confirmed my theory, and she admitted it, but made me promise not to tell anyone. I promised, and still have not told anyone.
My friend said her friend had not told the guy (who we now referred to as B in company) that she liked him. She said he would be told in ARP (study hall, stands for Academic Resource Period). Come 6th period, B is still acting completely normal, but is not saying anything to my friend either. So I ask my friend what happened, but she says she doesn't want to talk about it. It's pretty much the end of the day by now, so I go home not knowing what happened.
My guess is, my friend's friend asked him if he liked her and he denied it, whether because he really didn't or because he was embarrassed. Anyway, that's the only thing I can think of that would explain it not being a big deal to him, but it being a big deal to her. People get asked if they like someone all the time, but it's always a big deal when people get told (seriously, of course, not as a joke) that someone likes them.
Anyhow, that's my drama for the day. I really need a life of my own, but it sure was fun playing detective!
