My Journey Of Time
my adventure as it unfolds
A Familiar Face...Or Is It?

I stared at Delila for a long time, as if trying to telepathically tell her to stop the pain. It was so intense, so unbearable, but I knew she couldn't do anything to help. How could she? It had been a few hours now, and I still have spikes through several points in my body. I heard the metal door clank. I looked over weakly, it was General McCarber, back for another horrible interrogation.

The door was still open. But he always shuts the door when he enters or leaves for security measures. What's he doing? Then two people in army suits came in. They were dragging something behind them....someone. It was hard to see from where I was, but I could make out the limp body of an unconscious person being dragged by his arms face down across the floor. "Chain him up on the other side." General McCarber ordered his troops. They dragged the person to a spot directly opposite of where Delila hung, and just like her, they chained the person up on the wall. "That makes two down, three to go. I hope you've learned a valuable lesson there kid. You can't beat the U.S. government. And you too will be giving me some answers, or you'll wind up on a torture table like my friend here." General McCarber lectured the person dangling from the chains. The person must not be unconscious after all because I could see the person move slightly. I couldn't see any wounds, so they must've drugged him. "I'll....get you....for this...." the person said, fading in and out every few seconds. McCarber gave a sarcastic chuckle. "I'd like to see you try." and with that, he and his two understudies left through the metal door, the clanking sound of the lock chimed as they left.

I turned my head back to the new figure hanging from the wall. It was a boy, looking no more than sixteen or seventeen...a year or so older than me. What's someone so young doing in a place like this? He had white, skater length cut, breezy hair. Yes, breezy, as in light and flipped at the end just enough to make it look like a small breeze was flowing through his hair.....hey, he's kinda cute. Wait, WHY am I THINKING this?!...He wore a red zip-up vest with a hood that hung out over a long blue, leather looking but not, overcoat. Brown boots and a pair of dark blue jeans. What's that over his arm?...wait...that IS his arm!!! It was sort of red plated with a light blue light emitting from his claw-tipped fingers and various intricately designed spaces across the arm. It's giving off a demonic aura. Of course! He's a half demon! General McCarber said he had "Two down" now out of five, I'm the first. So he must be the second one. Why didn't I realize it before?

Huh...this guy looks awfully familiar. Wait, could it be? "......Dante?......" I quietly wheezed. The person continued to let his head hang. It must not be him. But he looks so much like him!....weird...I looked back at Delila to ask her if she knew this new guy. She had fallen asleep. Being a human, she was becoming weak from hunger and other aspects. She usually slept most of the day. Even though I am a half demon, I could feel the painful effects of having these huge spikes piercing several spots on my body. I turned my head back to the new guy. He was staring straight at me. He DOES look a lot like Dante. Same facial features, same silver eyes. "Hey, I'm Kimiko. Nice to meet ya,...well considering the circumstances." I weakly said to him. He didn't respond. "So what's your name?" Again, nothing. He dropped his head back down. "Fine, hang there. Sorry for trying to strike up a conversation in this dim place." I said annoyed, and I turned my head away from him. What an insensitive jerk. Can't even say hi. It's not like he's going anywhere anytime soon.

It's probably been what I expect has been three days since the new guy has been here, and he still hasn't said a word. Not even a peep. I've tried to get him to say something, but to no avail. I heard the door. General McCarber came in along with the person who gives us our food. He walked up to demon teen hanging there. He lifted his drooping head and gave him a scowling face of pure anger and hatred. "Feel like talking today, punk?" the general asked as he looked up a the scowling boy. The chained up half demon yelled at him, no words, just loud yelling. He pulled forward on his chains in attempts to grab McCarber's throat to strangle him. (Who wouldn't?!) But the chains held, and his hands squirmed awkwardly in their shackles, having only moved an inch form the wall as he still tried to grab the general. "No?" the general continued, ignoring the wildly thrashing half demon. "Then you can hang there some more." and he grabbed the feeding man and they left though the door once more.

After they had left, the half demon stopped his thrashing, but he was breathing heavy and deep with anger. Poor guy. If I wasn't in his exact same position, I would be feeling more sorry for him rather than myself. I looked to Delila to see how she was doing. She was awake, and looking at me. She seems more weak with each passing day. But she's still holding strong. Looked back to the half demon. Somethings wrong. His demonic arm started glowing more brightly than usual. Then he clenched his fists and pulled, and to my amazement, the chains shattered! Then he ran with an extreme speed to the metal door, and with his demonic arm, he sliced it right off its hinges and kicked it in! Of course, the minute he did a red light started flashing and sirens began wailing. He looked at me for a few seconds, the sped out the door. That selfish butthead! He's escaping! And He doesn't even stop to help us!

A few seconds, and to my shock, he returned through the door. "Why'd he come back?" I thought to myself. I looked at him as he slashed at Delila's shackles and as she fell to the floor. She got up and dusted herself off. She then ran over and pressed the button that released the spikes and chains from the table. It was as painful going out as they were going in. I gasped at the sudden retraction, fresh blood began to pour again from my open wounds. The guy came over to us. "Get on my back." he said to Delila. She stood there for a second. "Now! Hurry!" Snapping back, she lept onto his back. "Hang on tight, and don't let go." he said. Then he came over to the tabled and gently picked me up, trying to minimize my pain. "Your gonna be ok. We're gettin' outta here." he said as he held me in his arms. "Everybody hang on, this is gonna be a bumpy ride." and he turned and sped with super speed out of the door and down the long hallway of loud sirens and flashing warning lights.

As I began to lose more blood, I was beginning to fade in and out of consciousness every few seconds. I looked behind us, several army troops were fast on our trail. I looked forward. I could see emergency exit signs. He must be heading for those. He ran into one of the emergency exit doors. Just a tall shaft with a ladder. Not being able to climb a ladder while carrying two people, he began leaping off the walls! Gradually heading upward. When we reached the top, he kicked the door in and began running again. A sign on a wall as we sped by said "Second Floor." "Some emergency exit....What emergency exit puts you on the second floor?" I thought to myself. My blood loss steadily increased. I wouldn't be able to stay conscious for much longer. I looked forward again. I could see a large window at the end of a long hallway we were running down. He's gonna jump out! Are we going to make it in time? The army troops were right on our tails. The stopped at the signal of one. "Ready your weapons, aim, OPEN FIRE!!" the man said as he signaled his troops to begin shooting. I felt the half demon leap. I saw the shatter of glass and bullets flying past us. I felt the sudden breeze as we hit the outside, and saw the ground came closer as we fell. Everything seemed to move in slow motion at his point. Finally, unable to stay conscious any longer, I blacked out, not knowing if had been shot by the troops or if we made it out ok.
