the slice down the core
of my well broken heart
has torn me in half
the bandage has been ripped off
no, not ripped, painfully peeled
by the cold shoulder you turned
speeches tumble from my trembling lips
recieveing only a word or two in return
slowly, my effort is wasted
the affection halts at uncomfortable silences
barley 30 seconds of conversation per week
is the final nail in our coffin
possessions returned
affections erased
silently i shead tears in the dark
phantom arms wrap comfortingly around me
just like yours used to
i curl gently into the illusion
finding it harder than i should
to let you go
