He always had to go

But she still waited by the window

Her fairytale was a lie
And her heart was broken again
Because she’d just sat by the window
And let him leave her life
But he still said he loved her
He still held her close sometimes
But it deepened the lonely hurt
Why couldn’t she be his only valentine?
She looked out at the sky from her window
