About me (or what I do in the so-called real world)
I work as a technical editor and hope to start my own business selling my photography next this year.
I was a journeyman cake decorator. I quit because my joints couldn't handle it full-time anymore and, let's face it, the hours of a commercial baker/cake decorator suck. I still make various confections at home when persuaded.
I volunteer at various service organizations, churches, charities, and youth groups. I take photographs and sometimes sell some, sew quilts and rarely sell those, and read almost anything I can get my hands on. I've been part of a team that caught bears (Ursus americanus) for a population study, had bats scramble up me and launch from my shoulder, and kept a wide assortment of retired lab animals from giant millipedes to snakes for teaching labs.
I currently keep two Xenopus frogs, an ogon koi, and a goldfish--I'm sticking to things which are less likely to get out and scare the neighbors!
