She hears the screams
And the breaking glasses
She covers her ears
And prays that it passes
She hears them fight
Even from her room
They keep her awake at night
And she hopes it will end soon
She sees her mother's bags packed
And the tears on her face
She hears the car start
And rush at a quick pace
She feels the cold sting
Of the cuts and sores
She sees his angry face
And out the blood pours
She feels his rough touch
In the middle of the night
She just lays there and pretends
She doesn't put up a fight
She sits there and wishes
For her mother to come back
Walk through the door and hug her,
Tell daddy she's sorry, and unpack
Life went on and on
The same heart break everyday
She gritted her teeth through the pain
And at night she just lays
Finally she worked up the nerve
She pointed a gun at his sweating head
She asked for forgivness, pulled the trigger,
And watched his blood soak into the bed
She never thought she'd really leave
But she never had any doubt
She sees the door in front of her
And... she walks out

Everyone promises you a happily ever after.... but life turns into a different kind of fairy tale.
