This is going to be fairly simple and straightforward.

DLS Secret Santa - Have you been Naughty OR Nice?
What the trash is a Secret Santa? Hmm, well, I'm glad you asked.
Secret Santa, sometimes referred to as Pollyanna, Kris Kindle or Kris Kringle, is a Christmas ritual involving a group of people exchanging anonymous gifts.
At/around Christmas, participants' names are placed in a hat, and each person draws a name for whom they are to buy a gift. Along with name submission, each participant may also submit a short wishlist of items from which the gift-giver can choose. There is often a limit to how much can be spent on the present. Presents are then exchanged anonymously.

So here's how it's going to work, in a nutshell.
This is open to all DLSers (you have to have been around for at least the month of November, preferably).
PRICE BRACKETS
Naughty ~ 1k and under
Somewhere in-between ~ 1k - 5k
Nice ~ 5k - 10k
*New* Purely angelic - 10k+ (No limit - but keep in mind that you might not get a 100k gift from someone else even though you spend that much on them. Keep in mind that this event is about the giving anyway, and making someone happy ^^)
Note: The price bracket you choose will be both the price limit for the gift you BUY for someone, and the gift you RECEIVE from someone. So in other words, you'll be matched up with someone in the same category.
**If there are uneven numbers in categories, I may ask some people if they'd mind being switched ^^;;**
If you are INTERESTED, leave a comment on this entry or PM me with the price bracket you would like to be placed in, along with a real name/nickname you'd prefer to be called. This is to encourage and establish a friendly r'epertoire between DLSers, both new and veterans, young and old.
WISH LISTS
You MUST include a wishlist of items within the price bracket you have chosen. If something comes up and you can't afford the bracket you chose, let me know as soon as possible, and we'll try and work something out :]
Eventually, I will be PMing people about them. If you want, you can use the wishlist in your profile. I understand that some of you use them already, and that they're already chalk full of shiny items you're lusting after. I, myself, am no exception to this ^^;;
For the duration of this event, I ask that you place all items NOT within your price bracket to not show publicly. To do this, go to your Wishlist and use the scroll down menus under, well, show publicly. Durr.
If you do NOT use your wishlist, this is where it gets fun for you. You get to make your list manually! Then you have to PM it to me :]

TIME FRAME
This event will start from the moment this journal is posted.
It will continue until Christmas Eve - December 24th. That's when you all need to start sending out all the gifts. If you can't get online, due to family stuff or whatever, let me know. If need be, you can send the item to me beforehand and I'll giftwrap/send it for you.
Other important dates in between are...
December 20th (at first submission of this journal - date is subject to change) ~ Deadline to apply for DLS Secret Santa
December 20-24th UPDATED! ~ All gifts must be bought and sent to your giftee using the gift wrapping option on the inventory screen. Don't forget to make your gift anonymous!
If, for whatever reason, giftwrapping becomes unavailable like last year, send the items to me in a trade and I'll distribute them personally.
ONCE YOU HAVE THE NAME OF YOUR GIFTEE:
A note about buying items: Just because you can get it for cheap doesn't mean it counts. I understand that haggling is a way of the exchange, but please don't be cheap, for a lack of better words. Basically, try and keep the price of the item within a few hundred gold of the standards. Try and use Tektek to calculate costs.

This event went extremely smoothly last year, and I didn't have any major complications using this journal entry, so it was merely recycled.
Also, this is hardly a mandatory event - anyone can join and participate as they please. However, please keep in mind that once you commit to join, you don't suddenly change your mind. That'd really cause me to get frustrated, not to mention possibly ruin the event for someone else.
