"Yeah, bed of roses. You realize I didn't vote for any of this right? I don't know about you two, or what you both have going on but I didn't want any of this! It's not the bright future I was working towards, no sir-ey. I saw this coming a mile away, me and my kind tried to warn you all about it but no, Science and Goverment over trumps us little people. I hope you're both happy!"
{One year prior...}
"Hey there Darren how was class?" Kathrine asked. The young brunette took the man's coat from him as he entered the apartment. She had been waiting for an hour, biding her time with cooking dinner for the two of them. It was a special occasion after all, their first year anniversary as husband and wife. She was over-joyed to be the mans wife, even if he was a little rough around the edges.
"Classes? Just as mundane as ever I suppose. Did Zandra ever call back?" Darren asked.
Kathrine rolled her eyes at the mention of Zandra. The two didn't get along, despite them never meeting face to face. They had different views, different agendas, and different desires for the future. Had they not both been female and alive they would be complete opposites. "Yeah, the bear called earlier and left a message." Kathrine replied in a less than thrilled tone. She wated as her husband went to his office and shut the door. "When will he listen to me about that woman?" She sighed and started to set the table.
After dinner the two did their now normal ritual of watching their primetime show together, getting ready for bed, and then reading their own books at the bed side.
"Sweety," Kathrine began, "I don't think you shuld go." She looked at Darren.
By now Darren was accustomed to his wife's premonitions, she had a great psychic ability and he usually trusted her, of course on some things she was completely off. It was more an eighty-twenty percent thing with her. "Where this time? You said yesterday I shouldn't go to the store and thank you, it did get robbed while I wasn't there."
"Don't go to Alaska." Kathrine quickly replied. she knew what was said, well, most of what was said over the conversation her husband had with Zandra. "Please, if you go everything will go downhill fast. The entire world will be at jeopardy so please don't go."
"Kathrine, look at me, this will be a one time thing and think of what good will come of it, after all you're not one hundred percent accurate, and we need this, the three of us needs this." Darren gently placed a hand on his wife's belly and rubbed it softly. "You know you can't easily hide things like this from me, I saw the letter on my desk."
