"Could it be?" Titus was very angry. Everything was going so well, yet here, He would meet his end. Grinding his teeth, Titus paced his Governor's chambers. Suddenly, as He expected, a voice rang out among the palace.
"General! General!" The messenger plowed into his chambers. His face was scarred from torture across his left eye. His hands were rough, as he worked in the fields only previously. His black hair was matted and sweaty from the running and frantic behavior. "General..." He had to breathe heavily.
"Take your time, Quintus." Titus already new the information soon to be told.
"Aye, but there is no time...." He breathed quickly. "The enemy....is at the gates."
"So it seems."
"You knew?"
"Aye. A man with a letter arrived earlier foretelling my impending doom."
"What does this mean? Surely he cannot predict the future, General." Titus laughed.
"No...No he cannot predict the future. He just told me who was leading the army."
"Who is, may I ask?"
"Of none importance. I just received an omen from the Gods many years ago." Titus Julius took upon a grim face. "Jupiter himself told me of my fate. The god's will cannot be looked over. Should I survive this day, I will have directly defied the Gods. As a Roman, I cannot do that." Quintus at first looked confused. Then slowly he understood.
"Then, with your great sacrifice, we shall triumph. For the glory of Rome we shall beat them back." Titus laughed again.
"You'd make a good soldier lad. I'm sure our smiths can equip you with a gladius."
"Happily, General."
"Do not preemptively tell Captain Arrianus of my fate."
"Aye." With that, Quintus left. Titus turned to his desk to write a letter. Once finished, he called upon his spy, Lucius.
"Take this to Caesar. He must know of Marcus Sextus' betrayal." Lucius nodded and left quickly. Always reliable, that man was. He was a dead giveaway as a spy when not on a mission, for he wore a black outfit made of silk with a mask and hood and cloak. Once on a mission, he blended not only his appearance, but his mind. He could actually think as the enemy. Quick footed as well, he will complete his mission quickly. Titus left his chambers to discuss the battle plans with Captain Arrianus.

Acts due to boredom
I made these because I was bored when writing them. Feel free to comment on my awesome storytelling, or appalling lack of entertainment. Whoo.
