Chapter 1
The wind and rain mixed as one in the biggest storm of the year. Would we make it out alive? Will I end up with the love of my life? Where is Ryan by the way?
I look at everyone I could see from where I was in the large class group. We were sitting up against the walls in the only hall way in the school that didn’t have any windows. All classroom doors shut and the freshmen crying.
I for one was a Jr. this year. So was the love of my life. He’s not one of those oh so popular guys that most girls want. No he runs with the skaters and he’s so SEXY!!!!
I couldn’t see him anywhere! His class must be in the theater auditorium. It also didn’t have any windows. But it was all the way across campus. I went to take out my cell phone to text my friend Zach. Zach was also in Ryan’s class. Ryan and Zach sometimes hangout but Zach is normally with me or hanging with me and a few of our friends.
As I texted teachers tried to calm down the freshmen. It was another Tornado in tornado ally, why were they so freaked out? Anyway I texted Zach :
Hey! What’s going on? Where are you and the rest of the boys?
My phone vibrated quickly. As if he had his cell ready for my text. It read :
Hey. Sorry we’re trapped in the theater and couldn’t get to the hall in time. And don’t you mean where am I and Ryan?
I giggled to myself at the end of the text. He could always make me happy even during the worst of storms. I texted him back as fast as I could. My fingers flew across the keys :
Hee hee! Damn I’ve been caught. Oh, well. But yeah. Are you two okay? And are all the freshmen crying?
I sent it and at the same pace as the last text I got another. But I didn’t know this number. But I opened the text and read it. It read :
Yo! Thanks for caring bout me. razz
We’re fine Nessie chill out kay? But yeah all the freshmen are crying it’s pathetic! It’s as if they just moved into Tornado ally! What a bunch of babies!!!! And I think the storm. . . . . . .
I never got to finish that text. At that time the glass from the classroom behind me blew in. I could fell the glass shards hit the door, which I sat against.
“Renesmee! Move away from the door! Everyone move into the center of the hall!” Ms. Trish yelled from down the hall.
Everyone screamed as we heard more glass bust inward. I could also hear desk move along with chairs. At that time we lost power. And my phone went off and I looked at the new text I had received. It looked like it was screaming :
Nessie!!!! Nessie ARE YOU OK!?!?!?!?!?!? THE GLASS IS POPING IN!! IT’S SCAREY!!!
That text was from Zach as the girls and guys screamed teachers tried to calm them down. Then I heard the most terrifying sound ever. The top floor of the school came coming down. Causing the ceiling above us began to crack! No one but me heard this because they were screaming!
I crawled away grabbing Tiff, Kate, Kyle, and heather on my way. The five of us crawled into the safe place we had found two weeks ago. A piece of the wall opened into a hidden room and a set of stairs that led to the basement. But the area could only hold about ten people.
I called Zach the second we got to the small area. It rang once.
“Nessie! Are you ok?” Zach yelled, I could here it was just as bad over there. There was only one way to get to them. We had to crawl into a small tunnel and take it under the school to the trap door under the stage.
“Zach! You and four other people need to go down the trap door in the stage. You and your other four good friends in there. Then find the small tunnel and crawl through it. Hurry!” I said looking up at the stairs.
Kyle ran up the stairs to see what was going on.
“Renesmee, Kyle says it’s getting worse they need to hurry.” Heather said scared to death.
“Nessie? We found the tunnel now what?” Zach said.
“Crawl through it one after the other. Crawl till you get to me. By any chance who with you?” I asked just to see if this was going to work.
“It’s me, Ryan, Tanner, a senior his name is Angel, and then skater boi or you can call him Kim. We can all fit and we’re crawling. I see a dim light up ahead.” He noted.
“That would be our cell phone lights! Come on you guys are almost here!” I hear a loud crashing sound as Zach crawls from the hole. Kyle falls down the stairs and hits Kate who hits Tiff who backs up into me and I fall into Ryan as he stands up.
“Well hi there. And I think you just saved all of our lives.” He said smiling his SEXY smile. As we listen for any signs of people alive we wait.
We all sat in the small area together and talked for five hours. We couldn’t get out. The other side of the tunnel had caved in and the secret room had caved in as well. No one could here as we figured out after three sets of emergency groups came and went.
Zach and Kim talked like always. While I began to fall asleep. My phone had died after the boys had come so I couldn’t call for help. And no one else had signal. We were trapped for good. Thank god everyone had two water bottles each. Because the teachers had just given it to us. We also each had some food the teachers had handed out after the alarm started to go off.
I had no plan and know idea how we were supposed to get out of this situation. I had drank half of my first water and it wasn’t even cold anymore.
“Renesmee how much longer do you think we’ll be in here? Renesmee?” Kat said my name in panic the second time.
“Shhh. Kate Alice is asleep. Let her sleep a while. She did save us after all.” Ryan said. I felt so loved by him at this moment.
Five more hours past. I was now down to my last water bottle and I had three more things left to eat. Most people had one more thing to eat or nothing at all. We had been trapped for ten hours. It was now eleven o’clock and dark outside making it dark inside.
I had already slept but most were asleep right now. So I climbed the steps and sat there and watched through the small crack left. I could fit three fingers in the hole. That was our air supply. Another two hours past making one a.m. Ryan woke and came to join me.
“Not much hope is there?” He asked wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
“Not anymore. The last group to search the area couldn’t hear me and it was four hours ago.” I said staring out at the darkness.
Before I knew it Ryan and I had fallen asleep.
