I spend my time
Drawing hearts on paper
All across the page
I spend my time
Inside my head
Setting up the stage…
A scene unlike any other I’ve dreamed
A world where color and sunshine collide
Like splashing paint upon a wall once blank
Like the fields on which two lovers lay
I spend my time
In dreams and tales
With crimson skies and lilac clouds
I spend my time
With burning desire
For butterflies that dance
And rain that drowns
The fields float on forever and ever
And act as blankets for two happy lovers
The nights are alive with color and lights
As clouds drift by and hands hold tight
The butterflies twist and dance in the air
To the buzzing and chirping that explodes everywhere
And I spend my time
Drawing hearts on paper
Dreaming of this…
I spend my time
Believing that somewhere
It does exist
(Don’t tell me it’s not real;
Don’t tell me I am blind.
I like my head up in the clouds,
Just me inside my mind.)
