Prologue____________________________

Valleys. They're supposed to be lush with shades of green and yellows, but this one in particular was very much the opposite. with a grey sky accenting the already grim ground, it was as if it were lifeless. No wind brushing past the scattered trees, no noise of rodents scurrying about or birds singing... nothing. Trees were large sticks sprouting out the ground with out a pigment differing them from the surroundings. The only hint of life was a young man standing in what seemed the middle of forever, staring at the course earth. a young man that was not lost but did not know which was to turn. He had a name that no one was near to speak of, Caleb. He stood staring at nothing and attempting to imagine a better place. one where there was more than just him.

"You know what you must do now, don't you?" rang a voice in the saddened air, "You are the only being that can fulfil this destiny"

"And what if i don't?" Caleb answered with a fright in his voice. He did not look around nor move. He knew the voice. It was familiar.

"Don't give me that s**t boy, you know the prophecy i speak of!" the voice grew louder as if it had rage in it that could scare the best preditor. A warm breeze picked up as the voice spoke. Caleb dropped to his knees and held himself.

"NO!" he cried back, "i refuse! you can't control me!" He hesitated, "Who do you think you are?!"

The voice laughed as if he were toying with the boy, "You know very well who i am and why i have come!" The air picked up and now no longer stopped at the end of the demonic speach. The gust of wind blew caleb onto his back.

"No! No i don't know! what do you want from me?!" Caleb cried out to the voice. At first there was no answer and the air had stopped. As Caleb rose to his feet a voice rang out as if right behind the frightened boy.

"...freedom..."

Caleb quickly shot a glance behind him. Nothing was there except the endless grim that was now the beginning of his story.

Chapter 1: The Dawn of the Dusk_______________________

The boy rose from his pillow in fright with a cold sweat and a heightened breathing. As he panicked, glancing around the room, he reached for his clock on the stand next to his bed. Then relaxing he let out a sigh and finally realized where he was and what had happened. Caleb slumped back into his feathery pillow and wiped his forehead clean of the sweat that had built up over the night.

It had been raining. Raining, for what seemed like a year. the city he had lived in his entire life had gone to hell. An endless skyline of run down towers in the distance. rebuilds have been abandoned leaving behind skeletons of what were supposed to be wonderful conglomerate towers that support thousands of jobs for the locals. Now just makeshift homes for the homeless and local gangs. The ground so saturated cement would just become part of the soil and never dry. gas powered cars were useless. The environment was so thick with the exhaust that when you stepped outside you were required to wear a ventilator.

It was the year 3028 a.d. and the only thing that had progressed was the fall of mankind. Cities of the 2nd millenia were now known as "ruins." Over grown with foliage and wildlife. Calm, the city caleb had lived in, was a pathetic excuse for the term "city."

On his way to school, Caleb had be harassed everyday by a group of guys that thought they had everything better than everyone else.
