Repairing Blaster
Today, I decided to dust off my shelves starting with my shelf of Autobots. I just finished cleaning the Generation 1 Autobots shelf when I got to Blaster. I thought to myself, "While I'm at it, lets see if I can fix the problem with Blaster's eject button."
For the life of me, I couldn't get that stupid button to work. stressed I pretty much thought the button was stuck and the cassette casing in Blaster's chest would never open. I saw the screws on the back and figured that I could open him up from the back and see what makes that button work. After I got my micro screw driver kit, I unscrewed the back and studied all the parts that make Blaster work. confused
The "OFF" and "PLAY" buttons were just for show as I thought, but the "EJECT" button was a whole different story. You press down on the button, that in turn pushes a black piece. That piece raises a locking latch and releases the cassette case. I simply disassembled the pieces and reassembled them. I screwed Blater's back shut again and tried the buttom. The cassette case OPENED! The operation was a success! xd After a few more tries (and risking inserting the Autobot cassettes), the case opens up freely. Now, back to dusting.
