Everyone has dreams.
Nothing but fairytales.
This is the book I am writing just for fun..... please do not steal or copy in any shape or form. thanks

“By day, I am just like you, an ordinary human being living a normal life. By night, I am a hunter. My duties? To hunt vampires who have disobeyed the rules. Vampires need to be on leashes, to be controlled, that is why rules are set, marking their boundaries. If they dare disobey these rules, my duty is to execute them. No mercy, no remorse, and no hesitation. My name… Raven Maroon”

“Raven, don’t you walk away from me! Get back here young lady and take care of your little brother!” screeched the old hag. This woman was Raven’s mother, and by no means was she pleasant. Her white curls clung to her head, and if she made one wrong move it would catapult off of her wrinkly head. Wrinkles were etched on her cheeks, her jaw, underneath her eyes, everywhere. It was a never-ending wrinkle-fest. Raven trotted away, a small hop in her step. That old hag had no right to tell her what she needed nor had to do, she was eighteen. An adult, but nowhere near normal. Raven could scale the side of a tower if she wanted to, but that wasn’t very discrete now was it? When the old hag grumbled and stomped her foot, Raven just simply waved her off. A loud shrill was followed.

“ Good-morning New York City! It is now 11:45 a.m! How are you starting your early mornings?” echoed the radio. Small scratching noise echoed as the channel flipped to yet another station. “There has been another report of someone being found drained of their blood. No open wounds have been found, and the police are refusing to release anymore information-” The TV was immediately switched off, and then suddenly a loud phone rang, a techno beat lifting the mood for a brief moment. “Ello~” her voice was deep, and held an eerie feeling to it. On the other end a male was speaking hushed words, clearly disapproving of certain actions. The recent vampire incident was unknown until recently, when the news scoped it out. Raven rolled her deep green eyes, annoyed by the man’s reaction. “Got it, just another one to add to the list,” and without warning or goodbyes, she hung up.

“Raven get back to work! Those tapes aren’t going to rewind themselves you know!” yelled Steven, the employee of the month. It was obvious he had a massive crush on Raven, but he was one of those you know, dorks. He was nice, and had the personality aspect, but he didn’t quit catch Raven’s eye. Hardly anyone did, she had special taste to match her zesty life. Raven hopped down off of the stool, and pushed herself to work. She did have to act at least somewhat normal, earning a low pay-check. It wasn’t like she needed the money, after all, killing disobedient vampires had other pluses. Despite the fact that she felt like she was babysitting bad little boys and girls, she was paid extremely well and she stayed in shape. Training was rigorous, but beneficial, and the money came in handy all the time. What could be better than this?

Only thing left was for night to fall, then the real fun began.

Raven had made it through yet another day of work, straining to keep herself awake. Ever since she was five years old, she has been trained to stay up late hours training, and then forced to sleep during the day. She was humans, they needed to sleep to function. Trying to appear normal meant she could only sleep a certain amount of hours a day, depending on the mishap bad little vampires caused. Her wrist-watch now read ten p.m , and it was time to head over to the headquarters. Its name, “Moon Crescent”. It wasn’t that clever, but it worked, and Raven liked it. As she stepped out into the darkness, it greeted her with warmth.

Street lights flickered on and off, a soft buzzing noise filling the night. The lights weren’t the only buzz. Up and down streets drunk people stumble across the crevices in the side-walk, couples walked down the streets hand in hand, tourist gazed into the shops. Raven shoved her hands into her pockets and kept walking, her heals making pit pat noises. Men whistled in her general direction, finding her irresistible. At night, she was like a different person. Her hair was a straight, sleek black color. Reaching about half-way down her back, it wasn’t surprising that it flowed freely, creating a dark sinister aura about her. Her body was thin, yet toned, and her face was a perfect oval shape. Wrapped around her thin body was a leather black coat that reached past her waist, layering over her grey skinny jeans. Overlapping her jeans where a pair of shin-high boots. Jet black, too. Raven glanced in their direction, a cold stare stopping them in their obnoxious howls. They were anything but interesting.

It wasn’t long before she reached Moon Crescent, her boss was awaiting for her arrival. She walked through the door, took off her jacket, and grabbed her assignments all in one swift movement. In an blink of an eye she had walked in and sat down with everything she needed, exactly like a vampire. It was shocking how much a human could train themselves to move so swiftly it was inhumanly possible. It would suck to be the one thing she hated, a vampire. Besides, she had a reason too. They killed her father, and she couldn’t say anything about it, only watch her family suffer without knowing what really happened to him.

“ This is it, eh? Good, won’t take entirely too long then. I’ll get ready and then I’m out.” Without waiting for a response she was out of his office and inside her personal dressing room. It was like her room, but bigger and better. More clothes, more shoes, more weapons, it was heaven. Literally. Her long, pale fingers trailed along the brick wall, tracing her movements. Raven stopped abruptly as she came face to face with her devious mirror. From the left corner to the bottom right was a crack, and in the middle it showed where she had hit it in fury. Her boss was all about protecting innocent vampires, when he believed they should all be wiped off of the face of earth. Although, hunters had rules too.

No killing any vampires excessively, dire consequences were to follow. Oh yeah, you couldn’t fall in love with one either. Forbidden.
