Chapter 26
Kitty was running around in the forest, looking for Nero, unaware that he's already been found.
Kitty: Nero! Where are you?! Hm? *sees someone up a hill* Who's that?
Kitty runs up the hill to see who was at the top. When she reached the top, she saw a man with flaming red orange hair and large crimson feathered wings.
Kitty: What the-? Red wings? What in the world are you?
Man: I am the most powerful being in this world. I am the Immortal of Pride. *turns around to see Kitty* My name is Xiaolon Tsueng.
Kitty: Xiaolon?! That's the guy Ryuna-senpai mentioned when we were attacked. So I'm guessing by your wings, you're a phoenix, aren't you?
Xiaolon: You are correct.
Kitty: And you were also the one who send your little birdies to come and kill us, weren't you?
Xiaolon: You are partially correct.
Kitty: Huh?
Xiaolon: I ordered my phoenixes to destroy you.
Kitty: What? Why?
Xiaolon: Ask your guardian.
Kitty: ...
Xiaolon: If Ryuna hadn't betrayed me years ago, your life wouldn't have been in danger. Since I can't kill her, I thought it would be a better idea to destroy the person who matters to her most.
Kitty: That's horrible!
Xiaolon: Now that you're here, I can finish what I have started. *takes out his spear Lingsin*
Kitty: Yea, I'd like to see you try! *takes out her magic staff Charlemagne*
Xiaolon: Once I'm through with you, I will return to my fortress and order my phoenix brethren to destroy all the weak-minded fools in this pathetic world.
Kitty: You're insane!
Xiaolon: Heh, if you knew my goal, you'd agree with me, but I don't see the point of telling a dead person anything.
Kitty: Oh yea? Well, if you want my life, then try and take it!
Xiaolon: Oh I intend to. Prepare to feel the power of the most dangerous of all Immortals, and soon, the future god of this world! Soon, everyone will bow to my power!
Kitty: I won't let you accomplish your goals, because I will stop you!
While Kitty and Xiaolon's fight began, Sentaro was still recovering in the hospital.
Sentaro: *waking up* That dream..... It didn't feel like a dream..... Was it..... someone's memory?
Elena: Good morning sleepyhead.
Sentaro: Morning. *yawns* Hey, where's Bella and Edward? I don't sense them anywhere in the hospital.
Elena: They said they were going to do something and they'll be back soon.
Sentaro: Oh, all right. *mutters to himself* I hope they aren't doing anything stupid.
Elena: What did you say?
Sentaro: Nothing.
Elena: How are you feeling?
Sentaro: I'm doing well, but I'm feeling unusual chest pains. *flinches from the pain* Ow!
Elena: Oh my god! Should I get a doctor?
Sentaro: No, it's all right. I'm sure this pain will go away soon. *feels intense pain in his chest* GAAHH!!!
Elena: Sentaro!
Sentaro: *pants* I'm all right, the pain's gone now.
Elena: That's good, but you should stop with this manly pride act and see a doctor.
Sentaro: This isn't about pride, I'm fine.
Elena: *sighs* All right.
Sentaro: Can I ask you something?
Elena: What is it?
Sentaro: I have seen a couple of demons throughout my life, but you're different. You act more human than demon. Why is that?
Elena: I guess because I didn't know I was a demon until I was twelve years old.
Sentaro: What?
Elena: When I was a kid living in Spain, I didn't have any parents. I have always lived with humans throughout my childhood, but I wasn't happy. They all treated me like I was some kind of animal, every night I would cry myself to sleep, feeling like I didn't belong. When I was twelve, I met Luthor and Ryuna, and we became friends. They told me the reason why they were treating me different, was because I was a demon. I was in shock, but at least I know the reason for these mistreatments. I left the town with Ryuna and Luthor, hoping to forget my past. Since then, I hid any evidence of me being a demon, so I didn't stir up any trouble or scare any humans.
Sentaro: I see... Humans are such cruel beings.
Elena: But not all of them are like that. Like you, you knew I wasn't human and you didn't treat me any different.
Sentaro: Me, human? Pfft, no human has the power to foretell danger, track down a person's spiritual force or read minds. And last time I checked, humans have emotions, which we psychics have none.
Elena: But other than that, you're a very good person who's blessed with two great friends. You don't judge people for who they are and you're willing to help anybody in need. You're a strong person with a big heart, and that, to me, is enough to make you human.
Sentaro: Hm... I guess you have a point.
Elena: You truly are a special person.
Sentaro: Um, thank you.
Elena: You're welcome. *sits next to Sentaro* Um, Sentaro? There's something I wanted to tell you, but I'm a little afraid it might freak you out.
Sentaro: Pfft, please! I'm not gonna freak out or anything. Just say what you wanna say.
Elena: Well, all right. *leans closer to him, takes off his blindfold, places her hand on his face*
Sentaro: Um, what're you doing?
Elena: *kisses him gently on his lips* I've fallen in love with you, Sentaro Nakamura.
Sentaro: Elena... I... I... Uh... *gulps* Oh boy... *blushes*
Elena: *giggles, hugs him*
Nero: *looks through the slightly open door* Yuck! They kissed, gross!
Luthor: *covers Nero's eyes* Okay kid, you shouldn't see these kind of things. C'mon, let's go to the waiting room. *pulls him away*
Nero: *struggling* Hey, lemme go!
Luthor: I think we should leave those two alone for a while.
Nero: Aw!
Luthor: Listen, I have to go somewhere. *pulls out a sending stone from his pocket, gives it to Nero* If you or your brother ever get into trouble, don't be afraid to call me and ask for help, okay?
Nero: Okay. *takes the stone*
Luthor: All right, be good boy, okay? See ya. *runs off*
Nero: Whoa, He's fast! I wonder where's he going?
Luthor: Keep an eye on your brother, kid. I'm afraid he needs you know more than ever.
