ummm......journal?
i dunno...all the cool kids are doing it...
and then suddenly it was all over....
a toast to lord michael and lady ambrosia! may their union be a long and joyous one! heart

i'm feeling pretty rough at the moment so this won't be very long....(i lied. it's long)

the wedding went very well! i was up until nearly 5am friday night/saturday morning taking pictures of the wedding cake as the groom was decorating it. i think it came out really cute - the bride did too. we were on our way through the reception hall for them to line up and do the processional when she saw it. she squealed happily and stopped for a moment to admire it. the ceremony itself was beautiful and not too long.

the groom (my friend since junior high) was up at 10am packing for the hotel and i was up at noon. after i got dressed and gathered the camera gear we piled into the car and i drove him to the hotel to check in. they stayed at the embassy suites downtown (last night and tonight - they'll be home tomorrow). it's very fancy. they have a huge atrium lobby - it's like a park. tons of plants and a bunch of little ponds, and they have little live ducks that swim around in them. they're cute. smile

from there we raced off to the church where his lady was waiting and he changed into his suit. he was very excited and just a little nervous, but he looked very handsome in his suit.

the bride looked amazing. her grandma made her dress and the brides maids dresses. the bridal gown had beautiful fabric roses sewn onto it and the materials from those came from dresses that she (the bride) had as a child, teen and young adult. when she'd out grow certain dresses, her grandma would take them and reclaim any ribbons or lace she could salvage from them. she saved them up all these years and used them to make her grand daughters wedding dress. i thought it was amazing - the amount of forethought and planning that went into it was staggering.

as soon as i got there i got busy taking pictures. we had 2 hours till the wedding and i wanted to work out any last minute kinks with the camera. so i busied myself with taking pictures of the hall being set up for the reception, bride getting her makeup and hair done, and the church itself. i was a bit panicked when the ceremony started and my assistant hadn't arrived yet, but she was only a few minutes late and her help was invaluable.

i could go on but as i said - feeling rough today...
i took well over 200 pictures and throughout the day, many came out well. i now have the task of sorting through all of them and picking the best and burning them to cd's. i'd like to be at least halfway through it by the time they get home, so i'm gonna get cracking....

see you later!

*edit*
i'm about 1/3 of the way through now. the official count was 220 pictures. i whittled that down to 157, sorted them into four categories.
there are 56 pre-wedding, 34 wedding in progress, 24 portraits and 43 reception.

now i need to resize them all and then burn them. *wonders how much the pros get for this*
