The shadows that seep in,
Are consuming all the light.
All the happiness inside me,
Is being swallowed by the night.
I don't know how it happens,
When heaven crashes down.
All our dreams and joy,
Sent flying to the ground.
Shattered hearts and hopes,
All because of trust,
Broken souls and promises,
We've mistaken love for lust.
And when depression fails us,
When there's no where else to turn,
We decide to turn the knife,
It seems we'll never learn.
