Bullets From Bleeding Hearts
I see you standing there holding bullets from old wounds
Each time you look at those bullets the wounds start to bleed
The bullets remind you of the shooter
Questions flood your mind
You took of you bulletproof vest
& you allowed him to come in
He moved on but your still bleeding and holding bullets from old wounds
Memory after Memory and wound after wound
you keep their gifts
You took off your bulletproof vest
the wounds are visible a mile away
I know I can't stop the bleeding but I know someone who can
He holds no gun but he carries a cross
His arms are wide open
Full of love and healing
Those wounds no longer bleed
And there are no scars
