Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher. I was not at all impressed with the first of the series, which I felt was cliche and not particularly interesting. I kept reading mostly because I love the Dresden books, and there were no more I hadn't read. They've been growing on me. I like political novels and trickster stories and the second and third played into that. It took me a little while to warm up to this one, mostly because I'm bad with names and had a little trouble remembering which name went with which character. I am thinking that this series could benefit from a dramatis personae in the beginning like they put in Lindsey Davis books these days. Once I remembered who's who, I had a good time with this. I wouldn't tackle it stand alone, but I'm okay with that.
