A being of immense power readies his forces within the dark halls of Area 51. Feared by many, he is mustering his power for the greatest battle the world has ever seen. This being, this telepath... this man... he wasn't always like this. He wasn't always powerful, rich, or intelligent. He wasn't always nigh-unstoppable. No, no... there is a beginning to every tale.

Calo's starts here.



Screams of pain and agony rip through the busy hospital as a mother brings a new life to this world. Shortly after these screams, however, a new wailing is heard... to some, it's a horrid sound that they wish would simply end. To the mother, however, it's as if a chorus of angels has just descended from the heaven's to sing. Her child has been birthed.

"Erm... Well, it seems like our tests were correct Mrs. -[Access Denied]-. Your child has no birth defects or dieases that our scanners could catch. Looks to be like one very healthy boy." says a veteran doctor, smiling all the while. He looks at the sweat-covered woman as she gasps for breath, reaching out with a smile in an attempt to take hold of her beloved child.

A nurse complies to the implied wishes of the mother and brings the newly-washed infant over, setting it down slowly into her arms with great care. As she does so, the door into this very hospitial room is swung open wide. A man in a business suit enters the scene, slightly out of breath. His eyes widen as he sees the woman in the hospital bed holding a most prized possession.

"Is that... is that really him?" asks the man in disbelief. He rushes to the bedside and stares down at the mother and her son, tears of joy welling up into his eyes.

The nurse and doctor smile, looking at each other, then leave the room so that the newly-formed family could have their very first minutes together.

The mother continues to breath heavily, exhausted from the events that had just taken place only moments before. Her body was numb from the pain, but she was too tired to care. She looked up at her husband and smiled, then looked down at the child.

"Yes... This is him. And I've decided on a name. His name is Calo."

All of this time, the child had been wailing out, crying and groaning. But as his name was spoken aloud, his title that would be given to him in this new, strange world, he suddenly ceased the noise. He looked at this mother and father with large, ignorant eyes, taking in his very first 'memories' of this life.

"Calo... Heh, I'm glad you chose my father's name, -[Access Denied]-." said the man to the woman, "It's been a tradition in my family to pass down this name to every other generation. My great grandfather Calo, my father Calo, my son Calo... the tradition lives on."

The generic couple continued to admire their son... what they didn't know, however, was that the newborn's grandfather was watching. He was a powerful, rich, and intelligent man; a leader of a great, yet secretive organization that originated somewhere out in the Arizona desert. His skin was faulted with wrinkles that showed years of hard work, though even a young girl would call him handsome for his age.

This elderly man knew the child had a gift. He could already sense it. He would find a way to use it to his advantage in good time... until then, however, he would watch from the sidelines.

The woman looked down at the baby and shed a tear. "Welcome to the world, Calo. Welcome home."
