I will edit this post from time to time until the post gets to big, so here is part of it so far. I need comments!!

I tossed and turned in my sleep as the nightmare continued. I let out a scream and woke up with a jolt. I ran a pale hand through my dark hair and looked around the room. After double-checking the room, I let out a shaky breath. The same nightmare had been haunting me for weeks on end. I brought my long legs up to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. My dark red hair fell on my arms as I buried my eyes into my knees. I heard crash and a scream. I jerked my head up and opened my door quietly. As I silently tiptoed down the stairs I saw the scene. With horror spread across my face as I realized my nightmare had come true.

My tears splashed to the old, wooden floor as they took me away. I buried my face in my hands and leaned against the police officer next to her. My mother was the only family I had left, and now, she was dead. The policeman ushered me toward the car and told me to wait for a while. I just zoned out, playing with a thread on my pants when the officer knocked on the window. I rolled down the window and waited for him to speak. “Your going to be taken to the orphanage where hopefully you will meet some adoptive parents.” His voice was flat. I narrowed my eyes and turned my head. As we started to roll downtown, I buried my face in my knees once more. When we jerked to a stop in front of the Orphanage, I sprang back into reality. The police officer opened my door and led me towards the old, worn-down, brick building. My brown knit blanket blended with the orphanage’s decoration completely. There were kids running all over the place with a couple adults trying to usher them to bed. In the middle of the main hallway stood a couple, oblivious to the noise and chaos around them. They just stood there talking and laughing to each other, apparent that someone was coming. Finally, the women tapped the man on the shoulder and turned him around. She smiled a pleasantly fake smile like she wasn’t expecting a teenager, but a sweet young little child. The man’s big warm smile that he had on when talking to the woman turned into a straight, line. The officer cleared his throat and started to talk. “This is Jade. Her mother was just killed in a murder. She’s 15 and now she’s your adopted daughter.” He said flatly, handing them some papers and telling them where to sign. I just stood behind him, surveying my surroundings. Wood paneled walls with carpeted floors and ancient antiques. When I turn back to the couple, they were the same as when I spaced out. The woman, a fake smile on her face, hooked arm-in-arm with the man whose mouth was just a straight line and his features blank and jutty. “Hi Sweetie. I’m Emilia and my husband here is James.” The woman said perkily. They seemed peculiar to me; but then again, everything did because of my recent loss. I nodded and spaced out again. The couple led me out to their car and into the back seat. After about 20 minutes we arrived at their house. It was a secluded, large, very white house, surrounded by forest. “Woah.” I wondered aloud, as I stumbled out of the car. “Ya, we love it here. Come meet our daughter, Lea.” Emilia replied, showing her toward the house. I craned my neck forcefully to see the top of the white house, which was shrouded in darkness. As Emilia opened the door for me, I hesitated until I realized, what the heck, they’re my new family. When I walked inside, there was a girl about my age sitting on the couch reading a book. She had flowing blonde hair and a perfect figure. Automatically, I was a bit jealous. A bit, because one, I love my red hair. “Lea. This is Jade. She’s your new sister.” Emilia said, wrapping her arm around my shoulders. Lea looked up and glanced at me. “Hi.” She said simply, and returned to her book. I nodded back in response and looked at Emilia. “She can a bit…secluded sometimes.” Emilia replied, as if reading my mind. “Here, I’ll show you your room.” Emilia whispered, picking up my bags. I followed her up winding staircases and down halls. This house just never seemed to end. Finally, we got to my room. It was a quite large room with stained bookshelves, a large glass window that took up almost a whole wall, a beautiful dark purple rug, dark purple walls, a stereo, a stained dresser, and a dark brown stained bed. “I love it.” I whispered, walking through it. “Thank God. I thought you wouldn’t.” Emilia sighed, putting my bags down. “You can rearrange it anyway you like. To get back downstairs you head straight down this hall, to turn to the left and at the end of the hall you just went down; there’s a staircase. Take those all the way down to get to the living room. My room’s right next door.” She smiled warmly and gave me a hug. “I’m terribly sorry about your loss, but now it’s a new beginning.” She said the end very cheerfully. I gave a slight smile and watched her walk out the door. I closed the door and collapsed on the bed and started to drift to sleep.

Pleasant sounds of birds chirping outside my window filled my ears. The smell of pancakes drifted into my nose. I let out a little groan as I started to stretch and crawl out of bed. My bones creaked and popped as I raised my arms above my head and gave a tug. I slunk to my closet and picked out a park of black skinny jeans, a red tube top, and a black t-shirt. I slipped into my comfy dark clothes and on my checkered flats before starting down the long hallways and the confusing house with my brush in tow. I started to brush my hair as my feet led the way through never ending hallways and countless stairwells. Finally, I reached downstairs.
