Need to get back into the swing for my fic...
So a quick thing that may or may not happen; most likely not. XD (Oh yeah, these two are from a game called Okage Shadow King for those of you who don't know. Which is probably most of you. ^__^() )

Ari leaned over the edge of the boat, enjoying the cool ocean mist from the waves breaking on the black hull of the ship. It was a scorching day, made even worse out at sea with nothing to hide you from the brutal sun. Ari had originally tried staying below deck, but had quickly found the close quarters with his fellow passengers unbearable; they had kept practically walking into him, and in one case he was sat upon. "The more things change..." Ari muttered to himself under his breath.

"The more they stay the same. Right, Slave Ari?"

The boy nearly fell over the railing in surprise, having thought himself alone on deck. A strong set of arm grasped him just in time however, and Ari found himself being held protectively in the arms of his former "master." He gasped looking up into Stan's cat-like yellow eyes, trying desperately to get his brain to form a coherent sentence.

"Wha...?!"

He was not having the best of luck.

The Evil King rolled his eyes and released the stuttering boy from his grasp. "I see the time apart has done nothing to improve your intelligence Ari." Ari frowned and began heatedly, "How the hell did you hear what I sai--?!" He stopped mid-question and shook his head. "Never mind, better question: what are you doing here?" Stan dramatically placed a hand over his heart, and replied in mock sorrow, "Why Ari, you sound as if you're not happy to see me again!" Ari immediately blushed, having not meant to insult his old traveling companion, and said hurriedly, "No Stan, it's not like that, it's just, well... I wasn't expecting to see you here."

"That's an understatement." Stan scoffed. "You nearly fell over board." Ari blushed again in embarrassment, and scuffed his shoe shyly against the deck. "Yeah... thanks for catching me by the way..." Stan smiled devilishly. "I HAD considered letting you go over I'll have you know, but if I had done that, then I wouldn't get to find out what YOU are doing way out here in the middle of the sea; you're rather far out from Tenel village." The boy just folded his arms and frowned at the Evil King. "No fair; I asked you first."
"So?"
"So you should tell me why you're out here first!"
"Absolutlely not; now as your Master, I demad you tell me what you're up to! Something evil, perhapes...?"
Ari sighed and leaned back against the railing. "No, nothing like that... don't be silly." Stan frowned at being refered to as "silly," but managed to hold his tounge for once and let Ari continue.

"To be honest, I'm not really certain why I'm out here..." he continued slowly. "I guess I'm looking for Marlene, but--"
"Wait wait.... Marlene? Who's that?"

Ari shook his head frustratedly. "Marlene? The daughter of Boulinoue? We had this HUGE adventure about it...?" Seeing the continually blank expression on Stan's face, Ari sighed and formed a circle over his head with his thumbs and index fingers. "Princess who sometimes wore a crown? Claimed to own 70% of me?" Recognation finally dawned on Stan's face, and he immediatly glared and demanded loudly, "HER?! Why would you be chasing after..." he paused midscentence, and slowly grined. "Chasing after her, huh? As in, she LEFT YOU." Stan burst out into laughter. "Slave, you're something else... Listen, I doubt you have the charm required to change her mind about you, espeshally not if, ya know, saving her existance wasn't enough to 'seal the deal,' as they say."
"Seal the deal...?"
"Yes. You know..." Stan made a vulgur gesture with his hips, which caused Ari to blush so much Stan fond himself mildly impressed that the boy hadn't fallen over in a faint.
"NO! Gods Stan...! It wasn't like THAT for us..."

Stan smirked, "Well OBVIOUSLY slave, if she left you. I can imagine how it went too.." He then proceded to strike a girl pose, and do his impression of Ari saying how he just "wasn't ready for that step," and then a manly pose as he pretended to be the Princess dumping Ari's "loser a**," to find herself a REAL man. Ari just sighed and hung his head. "Tell ya what Stan... let me know when you have this out of your system and are ready to listen..." With that he moved to head back down deck, but was forced to stop when Stan grabed his arm.

"Don't be so sensitive boy... I'm done, really." He let go of Ari's arm and steped back to lean agains the mast. "So what DID happen between you two...?"

Ari stared at Stan for a moment. "... Are you SURE you're done assuming crap?"
"Yup."
"Really?"

Stan rolled his eyes. "Yes, yes slave... now tell me your story of what is no doubt one of woe and sorrow."
