University of Pila*, UP for short!
Just gotten home from the long chaotic lines at school. Lines lines lines, endless rows of lines, endless rows of cheats, endless rows of poor souls fanning themselves to keep alive, and endless dilemmas of "to cheat or not to cheat"--morality versus practicality. And for what? To hand over a piece of A4-sized paper to two grumpy ladies at the counter of the DECL office, so that they may input your desired classes. And even that doesn't secure you a place in your desired class; the longer the line, the lesser chances of slots in a class.
The reason for that is quite simple. The server crashed (yet again!). The maintenance crew managed to get it back, I think, but only to have the server in selected offices, mostly in departments and online advising rooms, but not in computers outside the Diliman system.
Such an irony that this "national state university" still lacks adequate resources, despite the tuition hike last year. So there, UP does not only mean University of the Philippines, it's also University ng Pila.
*Pila - lines, like "falling in line"
