Chapter 10
In order to show her gratitude to Sentaro's kindness, Elena give him a spiritualist book that contained a variety of spirit-summoning spells. Which meant it'll give Sentaro the ability to communicate to his deceased girlfriend Setsuka.
Sentaro: With this book in my hand, I will be able to hear Setsuka's beautiful voice whenever I want. Hmm... *reads a page* This spell looks complicated and it's power is risky, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. Gotta do this in a place where no one will see me. If the guys found out about this, they'll stop me because of the dangerous risk. *goes to the ship's supply room, locks the door*
While Sentaro was preparing the spell, Kitty, Ryo and Bella were doing other things.
Kitty: *swinging on the ropes of the sail* WHEEE!!! x3
Ryo: Hey Kitty, get down from there! You're gonna fall and break your neck!
Kitty: No I won't! xD *keeps swinging*
Bella: Is she always like this?
Ryo: -_-; Unfortunetly yes. *looks at the ocean* What a beautiful view.
Bella: Yea... is this your first time in the ocean?
Ryo: Nope, my family used to travel alot at sea.
Bella: Awesome. So, your pal Sentaro tells me you're a thief.
Ryo: Heh! What, you gonna tell on me?
Bella: *smirks* Not unless you tell me why.
Ryo: Heh, all right then. My clan has always been a band of thieves for generations, we steal only what we need to survive, and maybe once in a while we steal a little something for ourselves. After all, we are thieves of honor.
Bella: Honor?
Ryo: Yup, you see we got a couple of rules. First, we don't steal more that we can carry, in other words don't be greedy, and second, we don't kill anyone, unless they are a huge threat to us.
Bella: Well, I think rules suck.
Ryo: So do I, but hey I don't make the rules, I just follow them.
Bella: Heh. So, how's your family?
Ryo: Pretty good. My grandparents are healthy, my older sister's bitchy as ever and my younger brother's doin' okay.
Bella: What about your parents?
Ryo: They were caught by the law and executed a week after.
Bella: ... I'm sorry.
Ryo: It's okay. I'm not gonna let their deaths bring me down. I hope that one day I'll be known as the greatest thief in history, and I'll do it in their honor.
Bella: That's really thoughtful of you. ^^
Ryo: Damn right! Oh, and uh... sorry for me acting like an a** to you. ^^;
Bella: It's okay, I've been treated way worse than that.
Ryo: *turns around, mutters under his breath* Well maybe because you can be a little bitchy sometimes.
Bella: What was that?
Ryo: *out loud* Nothing.
Kitty: *looking down at Ryo and Bella* Heehee, they sure have a weird way of getting along. Huh? *looks up at the sky and sees it being filled with dark clouds* Hey guys!
Ryo: *looks up at Kitty* What?!
Kitty: Look up at the sky!
Ryo: Hm? *looks at the sky* A storm?
Bella: *looks up* That doesn't look like your average storm.
Kitty: *whimpers, gulps* I have a bad feeling about this...
Back in the supply room, Sentaro was getting everything ready for the spell. He drew a pentagram on the floor with his blood, he filled the shelves with charms he found in Elena's room. He was missing one important thing.
Sentaro: *pulls out a red fox plushie from his bag* An item that once belonged to the deceased one. *places it in the center of the pentagram, stands up and backs away a little, opens the spellbook* All right, here goes. *chants the spell in Latin*
The pentagram and charms started glowing brightly, everything seemed to be going well, but suddenly the glows changed to a black light and for some reason the pentagram was electrifying.
Sentaro: s**t, what happened? I did everything the book said. *looks at the pentagram* Maybe I missed a gap. *approaches the pentagram, suddenly gets shocked from the the electric bolts that were flying out of it* AAAHHH!!! *falls to the floor, is unconscious*
After a few minutes, the glowing ceased, and Sentaro was a awakened by a young voice.
Voice: Hey mister, are you okay?
Sentaro: *waking up* Ow, my head. *suddenly sees the fox plush standing right in front of him*
Fox plush: Hi. ^^
Sentaro: AAH! *backs away quickly* What the-?! Toys aren't supposed to stand and talk! Who the hell are you?!
Fox plush: My name's Nero Kumonji, sir.
Sentaro: Wait a minute, did you say Kumonji? Did you have an older sister named Setsuka?
Nero: Yup. So you must be the guy my sister was talking about whenever she prayed by my grave. Sentaro Nakamura, right?
Sentaro: How can this have happened? Why did I summon your spirit instead of hers? Maybe I better doublecheck the spellbook.
Nero: Maybe because this toy I'm in, was once mine.
Sentaro: *slaps his forehead* Damn, I should've known all her plushies were really yours.
Nero: *sounding sad* So, I guess you're gonna send me back huh? *lies down*
Sentaro: ... How old were you when you died?
Nero: Five. I died from illness.
Sentaro: Poor thing, he died at such a young age. I can't just send him back, he never had the opportunity to pursue his dreams. *sighs* Ok Nero, I decided not to send you back on one condition, you never leave my side.
Nero: *jumps up and down happily* Deal! *giggles* Hey Sentaro..... um, is it okay if I call you oniichan?
Sentaro: *kneels down and pets his head* Do as you wish.
Nero: Yay! x3
Sentaro: And as your brother, I will teach you some magic skills so you can defend yourself whenever you're in trouble.
Nero: Okie dokie oniichan! ^^
After an hour of training, Nero's now able to cast low-level spells and is able to use tranformation. With his new ability, he was able to transform into his normal five year old human self. He had light blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
Nero: Yay, I'm me again!
Sentaro: Ok, calm down kid. I suggest you change back for now.
Nero: Aw. *POOF, changes back to a red fox plushie* Why?
Sentaro:*takes Nero and puts him on his shoulder* Cuz you're travel size like this.
Nero: *sticks tongue out* Nyah! XP
Sentaro: Hey, you behave yourself.
Suddenly Sentaro and Nero heard a noise coming from outside the ship.
Kitty: *screams*
Ryo: Hey Sentaro, you better get out here. Looks like we got trouble!
Nero: What was that?
Sentaro: I don't know. *runs to the door* But whatever it is, we'll face it together.
