Kira scrambled under the covers, hoping he thought she was asleep. But her fears were met when he yanked her out of the bed. "Get out of bed you stupid whore!!" He screached "Remember you owe me...." He added quieter. Kira's mind flickered back to that moring when her mother found her report card.
"THREE F'S AND TWO D'S!!" She had screeched. "I don't know what's gotten into you Kira! You are a straight A student? Is there anything else I need to know about? Have you been skipping school? Are you running the streets with your father?" Silence had been terrifing for Kira until He came in. "Why are you yelling?!" He bellowed. "She is just adjusting to middle school! Remember how it was like for you?" Kira's moms' mouth shut unexpectedly. His comment had hurt, Kira observed, her mom didn't like to talk about her past. As she left the room with an air of finality he followed her but not without passing by Kira and whispering "You owe me girl BIG TIME!" With a sly look he trudged through the doorway and started talking casually with Kira's mom.
"You owe me!" He said louder, snapping Kira back to the present. "Now it is time for payback!" He spoke the words as if he was a snake, trapping helpless prey. Kira started to whimper as he grabbed her arm and marched her to the back room. Helpless and fearfull she sent a silent prayer that her mom would get out of work early so she didn't have to go through this. Hours passed in that dark room until about four hours later he left the room and went to sleep in the living room.
In the morning Kira woke up as early as she could and started to get ready. She left the house before her mother could wake up and notice the tears on her face and the blood and bruises that were sprawled all over her body.
Just another day at school it seemed to everybody else. A normal day in block with annoying boys and preppy girls. Noone ever notice that Kira slunk back into the corner. Hoping that if she was not noticed she could dissipear and never have to go home again.
