Just read up on the Kentucky Derby, which I usually only keep up with because Mom watches it.
Anywho, Eight Belles, the second place winner, broke her two front ankles and had to be put down shortly after. There's a fancy word for it that I can't remember. Euthanized maybe? She collapsed on the track shortly after finishing, and then after seeing the problem, they pretty much put her down on the spot, but that's not really what I'm extremely upset about.
It's people comments on the videos of the coverage.
There are some comments saying "damn, i lost $2 betting on this piece of s**t horse" and others along the line. There was even one that was semi-sorta-kinda praising Eight Belles, but the person got her age wrong by one year, and someone replied "she was three you ******** idiot".
Uhm, I'm sorry, Eight Belles just died. Care to show some respect? kthnx.
But one comment kinda made me giggle, which I deserve to be shot for, because it's tragic what happened to her. But the comment was "RIP Eight Belles, you ran your legs out." >__> She broke both her ankles. I'm sorry, but I had to giggle. My S-type moment of the day.
