ummm......journal?
i dunno...all the cool kids are doing it...
today was nice...
it was really nice out today. we hit 70 for the first time this year so i decided to work on my deck garden project. my sweetie had a couple of bucks from helping out his grandpa so we went to menards this morning. i got a pack of strawberry plants, a couple of bags of dirt and a bag of perlite. then i spent the afternoon sitting in the sun on the back deck mixing dirt and perlite together and filling pots. today i planted the strawberries and marigold seeds and something called helichrysum.
i meant to take a picture of the deck but i forgot. i'll try and remember to take one tomorrow and post it. there's not really anything to see yet and it's all empty looking but i was planning to take pictures of it as it comes together.
i've got the word out to friends and family that i could use some pots and they're giving me the extras they aren't using. in another week or so i'll be picking up some flats of annuals to put in them. biggrin my plan is to have a lot of color, i want to attract hummingbirds and/or butterflies. i'll have a few bird feeders around too. while i was outside today i spotted a cardinal and a couple of finches so i think some black sunflower seed and a thistle sock is in order.
i've also been busy lately searching craigslist for a small table and chairs and a bicycle but so far i'm always just a little too late. everyone i've called so far has told me whatever i called for was sold earlier that day. no matter, i'll keep trying....

anyway that's what i've been up to lately. i think tomorrow i might rake the yard, i haven't decided yet. smile

Sounds like a fun yet busy day. We had a few great warm days but then went back to *brrrrr* winter-like temps. Going to be in the upper 40's this weekend and snow in the upper HILLS, yes HILLS...meaning around 1000' snow level.

*sigh* I miss that 78 degree day already

Ah I love my Sunshine State! It's so warm all the time, although, summer will be extremely hot. I don't mind though. I'm cold blooded I think ;D I can't stand to be cold! I love working in my garden, despite the face squirrels have eaten every single flower it it scream I have some chill peppers sprouting in my mini greenhouse but they wont do any good till the fruit (vegetable). *sigh* Stupid squirrels.
