So, I entered this writing competition and I'm REALLY nervous. I hope I win...

Here's my entry, if you want to see it. I'll extend it later so I can make it an 'official' story of mine.

"Missy Leigh…the new Eros," an angelic voice speaks out.

The bow on the stone pesdal glowed brilliantly, blinding her. Missy shielded her eyes; glancing back with a gasp to see that ribbons made of a golden light shot out from the shimmering aura around the weapon and entangled themselves around Missy's limbs. She struggled, trying to get free but they only wounded themselves tighter.

She tried calling out for help. "Help m- mmmppph!" Another ribbon wrapped itself around her mouth, cutting off her sentence.

Then…searing pain.

From her back, a pair of white wings grew, but the experience was far from painless. Her muffled screams echoed through the cave.

Suddenly, it stopped.

The pain on her back then ceased. The ribbons loosened their bind around the girl, who fell over in exhaustion. Before Missy wafted out of consciousness, she could a woman bathed in a lustrous glow…

(Hours later)

'Where…am I? What happened?'

Missy opened her eyes gently and blinked a bit, waiting for everything to come back into focus. She was still in the cave but this time, bow was gone. The girl tried getting up but regretted it immediately, as a searing pain jolted from her back.

"Try not to struggle…" a soothing voice whispers."You're weak."

Missy looked up to see the voice had belonged to a beautiful, golden-haired woman in white. Her crystal- like, blue eyes gazed over Missy in interest.

"Who…who are you?" the younger girl stuttered.

"I am Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. As finder of Eros' bow, you have been appointed the new 'Archer of Love'."

Missy's mind was probably still hazy, but she didn't comprehend what was just said.

"And as the new archer-" The goddess started, but was interrupted by a cry of objection from Missy.

"Hold it! What's in it for me?"

"For starters, you get those." Aphrodite pointed to the pair of white, feather wings on Missy's back, no longer with blood dripping down them.

"Whoa…" The wings flapped a few times, spreading feathers everywhere. "Trippy…"

"Other benefits, I will discuss with you after you finish your first job."

In Missy's left hand, a scroll of parchment lined with names appeared. In her right, a bow made of gold instead. On her back, a quiver filled with many golden arrows took shape.

"The people on this list are destined for each other and your job is to make them fall in love. That is all."

The newly appointed archer saluted the goddess. "Right away, Miss Aphrodite."

As the goddess vanished without a word, Missy looked down at the list and skimmed through it, almost not believing what the task was.

"Aphrodite is a slash fan girl?!"
