we are the type of friends, who will burst out laughing in dead silence…because of something that happened …yesterday.

Yesterday…

Yesterday, and all those past yesterdays…A thing of the past-that will end till’ it last. The sweet and beautiful past, the memories, magic moments we’ve never truly noticed that can change a person’s life, the decisions we make which can change our whole existence. Every day, we try to pretend that we do not see that moment, that it does not exist, that today is the same as yesterday and that tomorrow will be the same too. However, anyone who pays close attention to his days, even to those smallest details will see the magic moment. It may be hidden in laughter, pain, arguments, agreements, jokes and others. This moment exist, and allows us to perform miracles.

These miracles…Let us say, discovering the faults and gifts of each other that can strengthen the bond of friendship, for in friendship, knowing each other is a requirement. No…not a requirement, but it is inevitable to happen because the string that binds these people in these type of relationship, whether friends, family, or any other type of relationship-the string that binds these people into bonds becomes thicker and stronger as time goes by. These gifts of friendship, bonds, time are all considered miracles.

However, as perfect as it may seem, nothing would be ever perfect but of course God. These bonds and even the string that binds them can loosen, shatter, break…Broken because of trials, broken because of misunderstandings; arguments; disappointments… and even words. One wise author once said, I’m not entirely sure who but here it goes; "… of all the weapons of destruction that man could invent, the most terrible –and the most powerful –was the word. Daggers and spears left traces of blood; arrows could be seen at a distance. Poisons were detected in the end and avoided… but the word managed to destroy without leaving clues."

The hard part is to know and regret everything, but what’s the point of regretting? The past is done. It’s dead in gone. Mistakes we’ve made will never fade. All the times we’ve cried, and the times we’ve lied, will stay in the past- It’ll end till it last.
There is even a harder part, which is to forget. To forget the people important to you; to forget the bonds; to forget the magic moments; to forget the words uttered by the damn mouths that open needlessly; to forget these things whether memories of good or bad and these are just impossible for these occurrences cannot be avoided; for they’re part of your past, part of the time being in this world, part of you, and being hurt by these circumstances is part of these bonds; part of being alive.

There are things we regret; words left unsaid or better left unsaid; beginnings and those bitter endings; chances we’ve never taken; roads we should or never should have taken; Signs we didn’t see; People that got hurt needlessly; wounds we wish to heal; those instances, magic moments, memories, the past- it cannot be rewritten. That’s the beauty of past. It is one of the things that can’t be changed and can’t be taken away from us for it contains ourselves. It contains every detail that made us the person we are today. Although, unchangeable, it stands to remind us to be ready for the future.

Like a story book, we are the characters or what we would call actors and God is the author. Since he is the writer, all things just mean they happen for a reason. It was desired…Inevitable. Like a roller coaster… Quoted from Paulo Coelho; "At the moment, I'm far too lonely to think about love, but I have to believe that it will happen. The rollercoaster is my life. I would feel trapped and sick, terrified of every bend, wanting to get off. However, I believe that the track is my destiny and that God is in charge of the machine, then the nightmare becomes something thrilling. It becomes exactly what it is, a rollercoaster. A safe reliable toy which will eventually stop but while the journey lasts, I must look at the surrounding landscape and whoop with excitement." –Paulo Coelho

Everything happens for a reason, now what we need to do, not to rewrite, but as the riders of the rollercoaster, as the characters of this story. As the things that float on a riverbed, a riverbed that can be stopped by dams but still have that bubbling and rippling effect. The beauty of the riverbed…

Basically, no one will really truly understand what took place and I no longer care what happened. And to compare such occurrences with the thought of forgetting, forgetting all those memories and magic moments; the now thickened string that seems to loosen as these events that have taken place; to compare risking, loosing, all these valuable things. These matters, I believe should not be dealt this way. For what truly matters compared to friendship, those memories, the string that I try to rebuild now, the magic moments, to compare all of this, then, gold is just dirt then.
