I was able to get out of the house yesterday because I didn't want to miss this exclusive, retailers’ only, event for Super Smash Bros. BRAWL. We got there early and the folks told us to come back in an hour so we went to get lunch.
I don’t know why, but they went to McDonald’s. I told them I refused to eat anything produced by that place and just sat there chatting. My friend, Dan, tried to do his 20 Mc Nugget challenge and only got to 13 before starting to feel ill. After dissecting an overdone deep-fried nugget, allegedly fished from the bottom of the deep-frier, we all decided that those nuggets are not real chicken, however, it’s a tumor cut out from and/or removed from a chicken and not actual meat. Dan claims that the fries are a modified form of Lima beans. I never thought the fries were potatoes anyway.
On our way back, I stopped in a Subway and ordered a Meat Ball Sub, I love those things. I asked for cheese to be added and nothing more. I look away for a second because my friend Dan came in to see what was going on, because the lady was taking her time, and when I look back to the woman, she was flooding my sub with lettuce! I had to yell at her “Excuse me. I didn’t ask for lettuce. Could you please remove all of that?” I know it’s not going to kill me, but the fact was that I didn’t order it and did not expect it on. The woman then started acting like she didn’t know English and tried to be confused. I know she was just doing her job, but when you work to serve, you give them what they ask for.
When we got back, there was a line . . . a ridiculously long line. A line so long that it, not only went down the street, but turned the corner, too. It was so long that it obstructed 6 or 7 businesses by blocking their entrances. We were the first ones there, too. We got there just before 1:00 P.M. Over-all it was a disappointment. Not BRAWL, the event. Mislead information made us believe that it was going to be a tournament, where of the winner and some runner ups have a chance at winning an exclusive copy of BRAWL. NOT! It was more like ‘wait in the cold for 30 minutes, come inside to fill out a draw ticket stub, play for 10 minutes and go back out into the cold and go home.’ Not too pleasant. Now, I’m ill and potentially contagious at the moment, so I really wasn’t in the mood to get out of my house, but I took extra safety precautions and brought all this disinfectant stuff with me just in case (blamed it on a hygiene O.C.D. if anyone asked – because I have that, too). I was sad, to an extent. It wasn’t a total waste, I learned that it takes me at least 15 seconds to adjust from playing on N.G.C. to a Wiimote and I could kick major face. I’m pro with Link. Seriously.
