My Thoughts Exactly
i want to write about me lol and subject that i choose
{in teh making}
"No more," Her calm voice would fool any hot head, expecailly Richard's. He would calm now adn tehy would talk and lower their voices. My ears couldn't hear pat that first cool line. Even being hidden relativly close...
A chair screeched across the wooden floor. Richard was up. His heavy steps could be heard trail through the kitchen, the living room, and the hall before a door was shut. This was abnormal for the bear-like man; he was always mean. At least to me. Mother never picked great boyfriends. My mother: Hannah.
I could hear her breathing. It wasn't calm like her voice, but shaky like she was shivering from the cold. She was crying alright. I silently moved from my hiding spot. Since only my socks were on, I could play that I came from my room. I shuffled into the kitchen, rubbing my eyes like I would if I just woke. Hannah's vision was great enough for her to see me before I saw her. She turned sharply and wiped away the streaks on her face.
"Mom? You okay?" I asked inocently, my eyes half open.
She turned to me, eyes still glistening and shook her head. I went over and hugged her. I knew Richard was going. Now, he was really going. I heard the slow rumble of his rolling suitcase and then the front door. If Hannah didn't start bawling on my shoulder, I'm sure I would've heard the enigine of his crappy Honda start. As well as him chugging down the street. Hannah really loved him, but he didn't love her. He showed that by his frequent bursts of anger. They'd known each other for a good seven years, dated for two.
"Roxy, sweetheart, I-I" Her voice trailed. I knew what she meant. She knew I knew. She meant this: I'm sick of this life. I get rejected and you're stuck with me. I know Grandma Rose can help me. I was going to stay with a friend. There was only a few people I trusted enough to tell this to. Still, I only stayed with one. The others mother's wouldn't dare let a girl stay with their son. Hence, I packed and called Shelly.
Hannah had been picked up by Grandma Rose since she wasn't well enough to go herself. These things didn't happen often, maybe every other year or so...Still, I was left to sit idly while Shelly and her parents were getting their hair cut someplace. I set my backpack down and wrote a note for Uncle Harry. The usual 'we'll be gone for a few weeks or so' note.
Shelly's house was occupied by just her and her parents. The extra room was made into a study/office. Hence, I stayed in the basement. My stuff was placed on the extra bed there. The one with ugly pink ruffled beddings that I changed into the black one's I took from home. It helps me sleep if I don't have a super bright color keeping me awake.
It wasn't very big, the room they quatered off with thick blankets. It only had a bed and a desk with a lamp for reading. They replaced it's office chair with a lawn chair.
I tried to open the desk cabinet-thing, but it was locked. I don't wear hair pins either. I suppose if they didn't someone to open it, thugh, they shouldn't have taped the key to the bottom. I slid the key in and truned it. My hand gripped the handle and opend it. Nothing much, just some old newpapers and a book about bird watching. Now, the normal eye doen't see a false bottom, but I do. Those things are just so much fun to get out...
My green-grey eyes widen. At the bottom of the compartment, was an old looking item which I found out from a paper beneith it was call a Realliozis. A nise from behind the curtains warned, so I shoved the thing in the pocket of my hoodie and shut the cabint thing with everything stuffed in it and sat on the bed, pretending to look through my things.
