Another time [Caution: Rant]
I said that my rant about Christopher Paolini and his TWO YEAR LATE BOOK was a rant for another time in my last journal entry. But look at the title. [Go on, look!] It clearly says that this is another time...even if it is the same day. It is still some minutes later...

So here's my rant. I caution you. I'm pretty ticked at the moment. This could get brutal...

[rant]

Two years ago [wow, has it really been that long?] at this time, Christopher Paolini said that he would be finishing up the epic "Inheritance" trilogy with a final book. And that it would be coming out in SEPTEMBER. But it never came. I, for one, checked the bookshelves everytime I went to the store. But it was never there.

And then Eldest came out in SPECIAL EDITION. And it had a preview of the [still] long awaited [and mysteriously unnamed] third book. And it was at the store near my house! I was so excited. Everytime I was in that store I read that preview [pretty much] religiously. It was insane. And all the while I was thinking,
"Holy cow! Soon I will have this as part of a book!"

But it wasn't soon. It isn't soon. The gosh-darn book still hasn't come yet. It is two years later "Master Paolini" and you have yet to present us with another masterpiece. You have yet to grace us with another work.

I'm guessing some of the hardcore fans have the first two books memorized by now. I know that I had the first page down for a while. But not anymore.

Oh yeah. The "Inheritance" series is no longer a trilogy. Now it is a cycle. Not a quartet, which is what Tamora Pierce calls her gazillion four part book series [I would never rant about Tamora Pierce...she is a wonderful writer who deserves more people to read her books]. You read it right. He just couldn't finish it in three books.

[Side rant: The book is going to be gold if it comes out. Kind of figured as much. And it has the Glaeder (the really old dragon) on it, which was also a bit predictable.]

All I'm saying, "Master Paolini" is that your next book better be pretty dang epic if you want me back on your list of fans. It'll take a lot. I've read Twilight.
