BUSY MONTH OF JULY!
Well, the month of July has sure been eventful. My sister's boyfriend proposed to her so now I have to save up some money for a wedding next year. Just last week was "PIZZA COUPON" week at the food court where I worked and I volunteered to lend them a hand (well, actually I was promised a free dinner blaugh ).
On a Transformer related matter, more and more Transformer Cybertron fiures have been hitting the shelves at the local toy stores this month, but I just can't bring myself to buy them. I already bought some of the figures like Hot Shot, and Vector Prime (Optimus Prime was given to me as a gift! xd ) but a few others just look horrendous to me. Others are just currently out of my price range. I want to get Jetfire, but I just can't see myself paying $29.99 for him. It is for these reasons I decided to focus on restoring or improving some of my current Transformers in my collection.
I have several projects lined up. Just last night, I made a few modifications on my Generation 1 Optimus Prime. I painted some of the fadded smoke stacks and other chrome peices with a metallic silver paint. Next, I used a base color of white on the eyes and then painted them with a very light blue similar to the New Years Convoy. I even gave Roller a couple of left over Autobot symbol stickers I got from Reprolabels.com. I was also thinking about customizing Optimus Prime a license plate similar to the one that was stolen from the promo truck for the Transformers Live-Action movie shown at the SDCC (The plate was later recovered and the finder was rewarded a 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime). To finnish this custom job, I am planning to order an Energy Axe, a blue tinted Windshield, and a Matrix from Transrepro.com just as soon as I can afford it.
However, I made a promise to put in an order for a Binaltech Grimlock for about $47.95 I found online as compared to the $70+ price tag he's seen in the stores. Like I said, busy month. xp
