It has been 100 years after the Ragnarok Incident where the legendary hero reploid, Zero, destroyed the space weapon Ragnarok at the cost, and 80 years since rise and fall of the ultimate Biometal Ouroboros. Many things have happened since then. The infamous Impact Winter forced the Earth to fall into a near 10 years of frozen uninhabitable waste. Eventually, the winter faded away and Mankind and Reploids rebuilt the Earth. The line between human and reploids were blurred as humans continued adapting to robotic appendages and bodies. The Legendary Biometals used by Vent, Aile, Ashe, and Grey, were all destroyed allowing their essences to wander the earth freely. The new Earth, was now in reconstruction, starting out with it's first nation, Neo Arcana, named after the ancient sanctuary of the humans led by Megaman X. Area Zero, built along the ruins of the original Area Zero, was next in tribute to the Legendary reploid. Eventually there were at least 5 more nations created and counting. The Earth was being reborn.

But as history has already shown by example, After Peace, comes War. In the Outlands, where robotic malfunctions known as mavericks roam freely, an unknown threat launches war against the nations, sending waves after waves of maverick Mechaniloids against them. The Global Defense Team. Mugen, have done their best to defend the Nations, but even they have their limits. Only the Legendary Warriors could fully repel this amassing army, but now they were mere cyber-elves, ghosts of the cybernetic world. But as fate would have it, the essences have found their way, born into the souls of 6 young humans...
