Ok well Hi I never really wrote one of these before so sorry if istart rambling on in the future. Ok so as some of you may or may not know i recently bought myself an ipod for my seventeenth birthday. this was a big deal for me cuz i rarely ever get to listen to music what with sharing my pc and my room with my sister who is so annoying it's not even funny. As a result I never really got to listen to music which really made me feel weird and empty considering how much music is a part of my life. So yea, anyway When i got my Ipod i was so totally happy but not as happy as i would become as I began falling into the pattern of constantly having music available to me, no stinky radio receptions, no turn that off i'm trying to watch TV, no turn that off i'm trying to sleep, no change that station, no nothing. Just me and my music.

So anyway After i got my ipod i went on a music hunting Craze download as much music as i could to add to my sad collection on my pc and add them to my ipod. During this time I add many songs from many different genres like pop and melodic metal to tecno to j pop to rock ect. Ever since my collection has been growing little by little. Anyway I'm starting to rant on about nothing. So today in physics I pulled out my ipod to listen to some of my techno (mostly ddr tracks) and began listening. Then this one song came up called "Castles in the sky," and i had listened to it before but never really paid attention to it. The lyrics go...

and as a joke I repeated those questions to Ami but she shruged it off with an I dunno, however it got me thinking and i thought about it all day. And well i couldn't help but think...
Later tonight I asked another friend of mine the same questions and he was goofing around about it, but when i told ami she gave me such a deep answer (omg ami i'm sorry i accidently x'ed out of our convo before i could it up here so if you can put your incredible interpration as a comment i would love you forever) Hearing (or rather reading) her answer I thought about the song again and the things that i thought about throughout the day. Anyway before i could answer these questions I wondered what the singer could have meant by 'castles in the sky.'
To me, the castles in the sky represent the dreams people build up. Dreams that they hold dear and strive for. Dreams that mean so much to them yet in reality are impossible. Just like a castle floating in the sky is impossible. However the dreamer doesn't realize this or chooses to ignore it, and despite himself builds these beautiful castles in the sky.

So onto the questions:
Do you ever question your life?
She is asking if you ever take a second to look at yourself exaimin where you are and where you going and wonder if your on the right path. and personally i do i try and sometimes when i don't like what i see i try to change.

Do you ever wonder why?
hmm this one is what gives me most trouble I feel like she's asking why am i here what am i doing etc. and yes i wonder that a lot, it's one of my dreams to answer that question of why?

Have you ever seen in your dreams all the castles in the sky?
for this one it's sort of depends on your definition of the castle to me i think she is asking do you see all the impossibilities?

for the chorus i'm just gonna give one answer.
To me The singer is in anguish because she realizes the impossiblities of her dreams and wonders why people do that to themselves build up these dreams that will always be out of reach impossible to achieve and leaves on crushed as they realize this. As for me There is only one answer i can give. Hope. People and their dreams are powerful things. With these dreams people propel themselves to do things they never would have thought they could do without the motivation of their dream driving them through it. They build these giant glorious castles with hearts filled with dreams and hope that they don't care how impossible it is they just hope to get it. Because by achieving this goal, by successfully building the castle in the sky they can achieve happiness, a goal in what i like to believe is one of the top goals of a person throughout their life time. Additionally whether the person successfully constructs the castle or not they grow and grow so that they are better people, stronger people. To me that is why people build castles in the sky.
Further more When she asks why are the castles so high? I feel that the castles are high because with trying to reach the castle a person grows, if the castle was something easy to obtain they wouldn't be able to grow strong enough to make sure the castle or dream stays alive even after it is achieved.

Looking back now I also think that maybe a castle in the sky isn't something that is impossible. Just well something that allows a human heart to set soar, something to allow people to grow. a dream so far away it seems so impossible to achieve yet as they work to reaching the castle they realize maybe it's not so impossible.

Anyway that's just my intake on the manor. I beg of ami to post her ideas on the matter as well because she had such an incredible answer that i was put into awe. unfortunatly i'm a big poopy head and accidently deleted what she wrote crying ....

Anyway I'm about to wrap this up. But please tell me what you guys think... What do you think castles in the sky are? What are your answers to the question.
