The next morning Ellie brought back a large number of hunt messages. "GUYS!! We got work to do!" Cid and Sophie emerged from their rooms and saw the pile of paper on Gales desk. "Well the off time was nice while it lasted..." Cid sighed. "No more Gale food...." Gale walked out of the store room with his swords and took a hand full of the messages. "Sophie and I will take the west today.... Cid and Ellie take the east....." Cid was surprised. "You sure kid?" Gale nodded and without another word went straight for the door. "But..." Cid shook his head. "This may be your only chance to work with him.... Take it...." Sophie nodded and ran off to catch up to him. Ellie sighed. "He is hopeless...." Cid nodded. "Lets go.... maybe if we finish early we can get in a short spar session...." Ellie smiled and the took the remaining messages.
Lenn and Hanna fed Xoutan who quietly searched the house for Gale. Xoutan had been so busy investigating that he had neglected to visit his friend. Xoutan ate his food and sat in front of the door waiting for their return.
Gale and Sophie silently went to the first location. The Hunt had no description. It simply said the problem was urgent. They came to a house in the middle of the forest far from the town limits. "Odd.... this place has been abbandoned for... years..." Gale looked around. "I don't like this Gale... Maybe we should skip this one...." Gale sighed. "Yeah lets go...." As they turned Gale heard the whistle of an arrow heading for them. Gale jumped to push Sophie out of the arrows path and got hit in the back. "These are Keiko's.... So who is it....." Several human-like Demons dropped down from the trees. "So you are the famous Gale Tenshi.... Demon Hunter.... you've killed many of our family and clan...." Gale winced as he ripped the arrow out of his back and stood up. "What clan is this.... And why must you bother me...." The Demons laughed. "We posted that message to lure you out here." Sophie stood up. "You saved me?" Gale laughed. "Of course.... Did you think I'd let you get hit?" Sophie looked him over. "But you got hurt...." Gale's eyes began to glow. "No worries.... I'll finish this quick.... Then we can collect the rest of the hunts..." Gale unsheathed his swords.
Cid and Ellie were now on their third hunt on the other end of the forest. Right outside of town was a small field where farmers planted their excess seeds for anyone to come by and collect from. Several medium sized bug Demons ran through the field eating the half grown vegetables. "Damn things...." Cid rushed in and smashed the lot of them with his hammer. "Lets get that reward.." Ellie looked at the paper. "This is alot of money for a simple bug problem...." A large centipede like Demon shot from the center of the field. "CID WATCH OUT!!" Cid turned to block just in time to catch the Demon's attack. It drove Cid to the ground and knocked him unconcious. "CID!!" Ellie ran at the Demon with her sword in hand.
