My On Going Story D:
The black marks on the back of the Greyhound's seats appeared smudged. My guess done by some stoner kid’s lighter. “Idiots” I swore quietly.

I stole a glance out my window and found the usual on goings, common folk wandering the streets trying to find a deal here and there, middle age women jogging around showing off their hot new Angelina Jolie body’s and mothers advising their young ones to behave while in public. I let out a small sigh. “So things haven’t changed” I whispered to myself.

Summer had just begun and I was off to visit my dad. The man I called daddy when I was wee. The father who held me tight and planted kisses on my forehead. The person who made me giggles, by exaggerating about how he would chase all the boys away with a rake. The man who called me Angelic his angel of the sky. The dad who told me I would forever be his little girl and he would never leave me side. That had all changed late one night.

He started coming home late with lipstick marks imprinted on the collar of his shirt and the smell of heavy perfume sticking to his clothes. I could hear my parents arguing each night. It brought tears to my eyes. I had no one to comfort me. No one to tell me that everything would be ok. It was just me, myself and I.

One night my mom shook me roughly and told me to pack my things. I will never forget that night. I brought only my clothes and a stuffed panda my dad bought me on my 7th birthday. I called him Edmond the name of my hero who once was my father. My mom was driving far beyond the speed limit with tears pouring down her face. I stared blankly out the window watching vegetation and vehicles swiftly pass.

We stayed at a run down hotel. The employee’s had bad teeth and the rooms smelled of mildew and cheese.

Reality finally kicked in as I was drifting off to sleep. I realized I would never see my daddy again, that I would never hear him call me his angel of the sky. Warm tears fell from my eyes onto my pillow. I blamed myself. I wished I could have done something…anything to be bring him back in my life.

I felt arms slip around my waist; I stare into my mom’s bloodshot eyes and held her tight. I began to sob. “Shhh, everything will be fine” she hushed. My tears soaked her night gown, but she hardly noticed.

It had to be the worse day of my life.

I clutched the bear tight and took a deep breath. Since then I’ve never spoken a word to him. This trip had been set up by mom who thought I needed to spend more time with him. I completely beg to differ. But she sent me packing and here I am now.

My eyes began to slowly close. I pressed my cheek against the bus’s window to feel its coolness. The bus then hit a bump. My nose slammed against the window. Red droplets trilled down the window. A dainty old women came up to me and uttered “Oh my deary your nose had rather a nasty run” and handed me a box of Kleenex. I thanked her with a nod. The blood soaked the tissue in red. “Beautiful” I sigh while pinching my nose. I spotted a blotch of red on my new Sevens jeans. “s**t, these are new” I swore quietly. Plus it look’s like Miss Flow has come and paid me a visit. I banged my head on the window a couple of times, to check if I was dreaming. Nope still awake. The other passengers were giving me questioning looks. “Great”, I’m officially the crazy period girl.
