"Echoes on the Wind", by Matt. Written October 30, 2007.
A faint echo lies on the wind
Of those last words you spoke
up on the shelf sits a bottle of glue
To mend my heart, should it e'er be broke
Kurt Cobain sits in his chair,
Writing a song, not for mortal ears
A song of laughter, of sadness, of shock
Encountered through all of one's childhood years.
The song echoes on the wind
Into the hearts of those left unknown
And it is played over again,
'Til the depths of peoples' hearts are shown
A tree casts a shadow on a lake of fire,
Where souls, through the ages, come and go.
Ninety-nine dreams, plus one, of a child
What she dreams, unless she tells, we'll never know.
