That's right people, there's only ten days til Hanukkah!! Surprisingly, I've already gotten some shopping done. I got my mom's presents yesterday, and today I found something for Paul and Uncle Mike. Uncle Mike's been complaining about not having any golf balls because he let his sons practice with them and they all wound up in the water, so I got him a pack of Spongebob Squarepants golf balls xd Also, me and Mom were looking for presents for my cousins, and Danny (who is twelve) had on his wish list a manga series called Beck. So, we went to Borders to go find it, and when we walked in Mom saw someone she knew and went to talk to them so I left to go find the book. I'd seen the book in the store before but I didn't know what it was about, so I grabbed one, flipped it open, and on the first page I open it to there's a picture of a naked woman spread-eagled. And my TWLEVE-YEAR-OLD cousin wants this book. I decided that this would be a great time to 1) freak out my mom in public and 2) initiate my cousin's doom, so I walked over to my mom and her friend and said real loud, "Excuse me, but we are not buying Danny porn." Then I showed her the page I'd flipped to. Her friend (who works at Borders) freaked and said that those books were supposed to be wrapped so people couldn't open them in the store and left to tell her boss. Mom pulled out her phone, called Uncle Mike and says, "I AM NOT BUYING YOUR SON PORN." She then went on to tell my uncle what was in the book. Then there was this really long pause, and I hear him say over the phone, "You don't have to buy him a Hanukkah present. He won't live that long." And he hung up. Naturally by this point half the people in the store were staring at us, and I was trying not to crack up. So about twenty minutes later Uncle Mike calls back. Apparently (according to Danny) he had said to put a different manga on the list and Uncle Mike had misunderstood him. However, the name of the manga he MEANT to say was VERY different from the one on the list. Danny is now off the hook, but I find it very odd that Uncle Mike would misunderstand him and just happen to put down the name of another manga which is not so appropriate. Methinks my uncle may be a bit too gullible for his own good.....and his son is a perv.
