house tour update
ok so we were supposed to see four houses today but we wound up only looking at three. all of them are in my old neighborhood where i lived before i moved to this place. it's nice there, i like it anyway..... here's how it went:

house number one is a foreclosure so it's priced really low but it needs a ton of work. the rooms were all really tiny and it had a weird layout to the whole place plus the bathrooms and kitchens were ugly and uber crappy. on top of that there was crap from the previous tenants everywhere and the roof is twenty years old and needs replacing. it is on a quiet street and it did have a nice yard and a big garage but we aren't going to live in the yard and garage so on to the next house.

house number two on the list we had seen before during an open hose last week. it's half a block down the street from the first house. it has an awesome garage too but a small yard. we were interested in it but there's a tenant living upstairs who won't let people in to look at the place so that was a deal breaker for us. on to the next one....

house number three has a garage that made us hear church bells and angels singing. however it's right on a busy street and right across the street is the fire department. great we thought, if the place ever catches fire we're golden! then while we were inside looking at the place they got called out. lol, omg no way. it's too bad, the inside had tons of huge closets and built in cabinets...very bright and sunny. lol, when we went in to look at the lower unit we discovered the people were home and still in bed sleeping so we didn't look around much and bailed out of there. i think the fire department across the street is a deal breaker there, i can imagine having a migraine and trying to lay down and then WONK!! WHOOOOooooOOOOOO! WONK! WONK! not to mention you can't park in front of the place because the trucks need the space to turn and back into the firehouse and theres no room for guests to park in the back. lol....on to the last house.....

house number four was freaking awesome! hands down the winner of the ones we've seen so far. it's on a quiet street. the garage is small and it doesn't have much of a yard but it has a big driveway so i can at least park off the street when the snow plows come through in the winter and we have space for our friends to park. good enough for me. the place was built in 1896, it's brick and has hard wood floors everywhere. the rooms aren't huge but they aren't tiny either. it's more space than we have now, and the upper unit has a deck on the back. that'll be cool for barbecuing in the summer. it has a nice layout and the kitchen in the lower unit is wicked cool, we really liked the place so we're setting up another appointment so my friend who's actually doing the buying can see it. hopefully she'll dig it too, put in an offer and we'll have a new place. if not then i shall continue my search for a house which does not suck.

anyway, that's how it went.....
